We thoroughly enjoyed our August stay at David’s gite in Ginestas which is a delightful village in an area of many attractions and things to do and see. David could not have been more helpful right from the start. He communicated with us quickly after our initial telephone enquiry and answered questions that we had about the gite. He warmly welcomed us when we arrived and was a mine of information, and only too pleased to give recommendations about good walks, the best vignerons etc, when we asked him. At the same time, he left us undisturbed when we were at the gite. The gite itself was spotless and ideal for a relaxing holiday. As the weather was hot when we were there, we much appreciated the recently-installed, very effective ceiling fan in the bedroom. The kitchen is well-equipped which made meal preparation easy when we chose not to dine out. It was not necessary to use the car to find a good place to eat: we enjoyed great meals at all three of the excellent eateries in the village. We loved being able to sit on the decking in the quiet of the morning looking at the beautiful view and enjoying fresh croissants collected from the very good boulangerie just five-minutes down the lane. The plunge pool, which is actually bigger than it appears on the website, was perfect for reading and enjoying a glass of the local wine in the heat of the afternoon. We definitely recommend this delightful gite and intend returning.
Thank you very much David !!!!! Jean Christophe & Elise August 2020
We had the pleasure of staying a week in this gite and what a delight! Breakfast on the decking (bought from the boulangerie just a couple of minutes'' walk away), looking out at spectacular views was simply idyllic. There are several restaurants within walking distance and we especially enjoyed Tapas at Oncle Jules. There is so much to visit in the area and our highlights included the chic town of Narbonne, historic Carcassonne, Gruisson for the beach and "moules-frites" and a great day out into the mountains to see the Chateau de Perpeyretuse. David is the perfect host and provided a lot of useful information about the gite and surrounding area. We would highly recommend staying in this fabulous location. Chrissie and Brian July 2020
Terrible endroit, David est d une gentillesse incroyable ! Quel acceuil ! Nous recommandons à mille pourcents !
The gite is situated in the quiet village of Ginestas, close to plenty of places of interest and beauty. We enjoyed our week here and left feeling refreshed, with our batteries fully charged! The gite was light, airy, clean and comfortable with a fabulous view. The plunge pool on the decking was perfect for a dip at the end of a hot day in the sun. The owner of the gite, David, couldn't have been more welcoming and gave us plenty of tips on the best places to visit and where to eat. Don't leave here without visiting Minerve and of course, sampling the local red wines!
We had a lovely time here, the views from the decking were stunning. The plunge pool is an excellent idea, perfect for cooling off in. The inside of the Gite was done to a high standard and was very comfortable. It was very peaceful and relaxing and in a great location for exploring the local area (by car). The owners were very welcoming and left us to our own devices. We especially liked the cheap and extremely drinkable local wine!
