Description

Outside the hut you can relax in the warmth of the wood burning hot tub whilst taking in the beautiful views around you, with no light pollution. A firepit is the perfect place to enjoy toasting marshmallows whilst taking in the starry night sky. The hut has WiFi for when you need to dip back to reality and complimentary electric vehicle charging is available for those who need it. We have five classic cars here at the farm and undercover parking for your car too, if it is required please let us know. Recently we have also catered for guests with horses, holidaying with a horse is a rare opportunity, but it’s certainly available at the Weardale Retreat.

Short getaway

By s on 24-Feb-2024

A beautiful quiet place for a short break. The accommodation was clean and well stocked with everything you need including a welcome pack to ensure we could have a cuppa. Everything was provided including logs for the fire pit, bbq and hot tub. We ordered the afternoon tea on arrival and it was delicious, all home made. You are on a working farm so there will be tractors etc. There is a short walk across a grass field to get to the hut which would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. We found it perfect.

We have just returned from a short stay here and all I can say is WOW! The views, the cabin and the local area are all beautiful! Carol was amazingly helpful from the initial booking onwards. We loved relaxing in the hot tub with picturesque views and exploring the local area. Would highly recommend to anyone to visit, you won''t be disappointed.

We had the most amazing stay!!! The most beautiful location with all of the facilities and amenities that you would need. The hot tub was amazing, the fire pit was such a lovely touch and the BBQ was also put to good use. The hut itself is brilliant, so well thought out and cosy. Carole greeted us on arrival and was on hand if we needed anything

Perfect location

We stayed in the shepherds hut for four nights, the location was perfect with outstanding views. It was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed for a short self catering stay. The Wood fired hot tub Was amazing and easy to use. The views were stunning we couldn’t fault it and would highly recommend it. We also had one of Carols continental breakfasts which was delivered to the us it was amazing and full of locally produced goodies.

WOW!

We were wanting a relaxing peaceful weekend and this fitted the bill perfectly. The view is AMAZING, the accomodation is compact but everything has been thought of and was comfortable. The wood fired hot tub is great and the scenery just makes the whole experience very chilled. Carol and John were lovely meeting us at arrival and helpful throughout our stay asking for feedback to improve (however they had already thought of everything) The homemade afternoon tea and breakfast basket was fantastic. We also had a little BBQ pack and Enjoyed a bbq followed by marshmallows on the fire pit later on. Some lovely touches and you could see the thought and care put into making the experience of our stay a positive one. I will definitely be looking to make a return trip after feeling very refreshed after our weekend stay and time out from the general busyness of life
