2 doubles & 1 twin bedroom, 1 bathroom & 1 shower room, private 11m x 4m salt water pool (open June to September inclusive, heated depending on weather)
Set on the peaceful outskirts of the pretty medieval town of Fontenay-le-Comte and overlooking the valley of the Vendee river, it is a pleasant 12 minute walk into town with its good choice of bars and restaurants for eating out. There are 2 hypermarkets within a few minutes drive, plus an Aldi and a Lidl and a 7 to 11 style supermarket. On Saturday there is the market. The covered market with its local food produce also opens on Wednesdays. The property is ideally situated to explore the sights of the area: 3 hours from St Malo (port) and 45 minutes to La Rochelle (airport). Local attractions include the Mervent forest for walking and cycling, the waterways of the Marais Poitevin, both 20 minutes. An hour away lie the sandy beaches at La Tranche. Further afield are Futurescope and Puy du Fou.
