A truly beautiful setting with friendly helpful hosts in an absolute gorgeous area. Fayence and Seillans are stunning villages. Fayence is within walking distance(we walked their every day) and Seillans just a short drive away. You will not regret choosing this place for your holiday
Charming roomy cottage with a beautiful large pool. We had an excellent week in this quiet retreat.
Really delightful cottage with everything you need for a lovely holiday in the South of France
We had a great week in Fayence. The property is lovely and Mark and Lorna great hosts. The weather at the end of September was perfect.
Beautiful grounds, very serene, pool to enjoy, well equipped house. We had a great stay. Special thanks to Mark and Lorna for their warm welcome and hospitality. Lorna’s Yoga classes were the icing on the cake.
The cottage is tucked away at the end of a small lane on the outskirts of Fayence, one of the many medieval villages that “perch” in the hills here in Provence. It isn’t too far to walk into the village to the local supermarket (Super U), boulangerie and tabac but from there it is quite a steep climb to get to the centre where you’ll find the Market, Shops, Tourist Information Office and most of the restaurants and bars. If you do want to walk to the centre look for the shortcuts and steps that save you following the winding road up. If you prefer to drive there are quite a lot of parking spaces up there - we didn’t have a problem. The location is a great base to make day trips from - the Tourist Information Office are very helpful and previous guests at the cottage have left some information. It isn’t possible to do everything. From our experience this time we definitely recommend touring the surrounding villages for architecture, markets, restaurants and craft shops; for breathtaking scenery go to Gorges de Verdon, and for perfume, shopping and more architecture go to Grasse! Within the cottage itself , we found the kitchen/dining area/social space well appointed with air conditioning and lots of home touches to make our stay easier and more enjoyable. The two large ensuite bedrooms each have a double bed plus a single bed. The beds were very comfortable, air conditioning effective and we always had piping hot water for showers. There is a lovely veranda so you can sit outside in the shade either at the bistro table sipping a coffee or relaxing on the sofa with something cooler. We did both! We BBQ’d most nights and loved having a separate outdoor dining area. Both the garden and pool areas are very nicely laid out and provide excellent spaces to both play, chill and relax in. They were discretely well maintained during our stay. Mark and Lorna were very warm and friendly, ensured that we had all we needed to have a great stay at the cottage and were on hand to deal with any queries. Overall, we had a wonderful holiday and look forward to returning in the future.
