Description
** SHORT BREAKS SEASON EXTENDED UNTIL THE END OF JUNE**The Cider House is part of a large two-story, Grade II listed, bank barn conversion (to the left of the main picture) and is perfect for couples or small families of up to four people.
Entry to Cider House is from the rear of the property at upper ground floor level into the open plan living area. Here you will find everything you need for a great self catering holiday. The lounge area has pale blue Laura Ashley two-seater sofa and two armchairs, positioned around a solid oak coffee table. There is a flat screen TV with Freesat, offering over 200 channels as well as access to Netflix and On Demand services. The views from the lounge window are stunning out over the cobbled courtyard and pond to the countryside beyond.
The kitchen/diner is fully equipped with everything you need including an electric built in oven with ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher and plenty of cutlery and crockery. There is a statement Smeg fridge/freezer with lots of space to store your essential holiday goodies and a pine round table and 4 chairs; perfect for cosy dinners in.
At the top of the stairs that lead down to the bedrooms there is a stair-gate for keeping children safe and ensuring your dogs stay in the living area.
The stairs lead down to a small hallway with under-stairs cupboard that houses a washer/dryer.
The main bedroom has a wrought iron king size bed with solid oak bedside cabinets and wardrobe with drawer and views out over the garden and countryside. There is a limestone en-suite bathroom with full size bath with overhead shower, WC and basin.
The second bedroom is set up as a single room but has the availability to be turned into a small twin room with a full size pull out trundle bed that pops up next to the single to full height. This makes a great small twin room especially for children. There is an oak wardrobe and bedside cabinet and French Doors onto the south facing rear terrace. This room also benefits from it's own en-suite limestone shower room with walk in luxury massage jet shower with rainfall head, WC and basin. This makes Cider house an ideal property for couples who wish to bring a parent with them or children.
Access to the fully enclosed rear terrace is from the single room through French Doors. The slate terrace is south facing with dining area as well as two sun loungers making it the perfect spot to sit and unwind and enjoy the view.
Cider House visitors also have the use of our grassed dog garden which is about 20 feet from the door as well as our 3 acre field. We welcome up to two dogs in Cider house as we feel that is appropriate for the size of the cottage at a cost of just £25 per stay.
Short Breaks are available from October - May Half Term or at short notice (see our website for details).

Leave ReviewCider House
By Richard & Julie & Alfie the dog on 20-Apr-2025Recently back from a four night break at The Cider House. Everything we had hoped for as a base for completing two stages of the South West Coast Path over the weekend. A really cozy, comfortable and well equipped cottage with a great home-made cream tea provided as a welcome addition. Local dog-friendly taxi firm took us to the start of one walking day (Lynton) and collected at the end of day two (Woolacombe), so Cider House was ideally placed for our weekend. A big thumbs up from us.
Cider House
By Liz & Matt and Billie the dog on 13-Sep-2024Despite the mixture of weather we have really enjoyed our time at Cider House and North Devon. The cottage is comfortable, cosy and everything we wanted after a long journey South! We loved all the beaches, Woolacombe, Putsborough and we did a lovely walk from Croyde along the coast path to Sunton Sands which is also an amazing beach. Thank you for a great stay! We also visited the Fox & Goose which was delicious. Many thanks!
Cider House
By Lauren, Neil & Jennifer on 27-Aug-2024We had a wonderful stay at The Cider House - delicious cream tea on arrival and the accommodation was spotlessly clean. My daughter said it was very posh! The beds were very comfortable and showers fantastic. The gardens and views were spectacular. Great location to explore North Devon.
Cider House
By Nicholas & Patricia on 18-Aug-2024The Cider House is a cosy well equipped cottage and was ideal for us with our two grandsons, and family dog. Enjoyed my early morning walk with our dog in the paddock which certainly gave the calf muscles a work out. Our first evening in Coombe Martin was carnival night with some great floats and very loud music, which went down a treat with the boys. A perfect location for the beach holiday we needed, but now we need a rest. A very enjoyable holiday was had by all.

By The Mowatt Family on 14-Apr-2024A wonderful few days with family in Cider House and Nutcombe Barn. We were made to feel very welcome and the cream tea on arrival was a lovely treat. Thank you Jackie. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay; from exploring local beaches and villages, enjoying meals at the recommended pubs (Black Venus was excellent) and relaxing in the cottages and beautiful grounds. Thank you for a lovely stay. We would love to return!
