Nutcombe Cottage
By Philip Glaves on 16-Mar-2026The cottage is really lovely, very well equipped and everything worked. Even the toilet seat stayed where it was supposed to be. The gardens and particularly the large lower field provided a very welcome evening stroll, especially for us as the newly planted daffodils were stunning. There are some excellent walks in the area and the coastal scenery is spectacular. Combe Martin is a bit disappointing although the Co op is very well stocked and the walk up to Great Hangman was very enjoyable. We loved Woolacombe and the Morte Point area. The cafe in the National Trust car park is exceptional. Lynemouth, Lynton and Watersmeet are well worth a visit. There are some very good pubs serving quality food in the area. The information booklet provided was very well done and very helpful.
Nutcombe Cottage
By Paul Lowe on 10-Nov-2025We have just returned from our third stay here, and thoroughly recommend it. The cottage is attractive and well appointed and has spectacular views of a beautiful part of Devon. Our hosts were friendly and extremely helpful. There is lots to do nearby - we particularly enjoy visiting Lynton and Lynmouth, Arlington Court, Watermouth Castle and (in the summer) the beach at Woolacombe. There are plenty of pubs nearby offering good food, and the cottage is well set up if you prefer to prepare your own meals. We will be back!
Nutcombe Cottage
By Helen & Dogs on 10-Jun-2025I have just returned from a lovely long weekend in Nutcombe Cottage with my two dogs. It is a beautiful and peaceful setting, the cottage was extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. The garden and field beyond were amazing and very handy to exercise the dogs. The cottage is located near wonderful walks and there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. Unfortunately it rained on one of the days but I was more than content to relax in the cottage and spend time there reading and just enjoying the view. By the way, the cottage had the best shower I have ever come across in a holiday cottage! Thank you
Nutcombe Cottage
By Julie Sparkes on 05-Jun-2025Just wanted to say thank you for offering these beautiful cottages to rent. We booked into Nutcombe Cottage and from the moment we drove down the lane on our arrival, we knew we were about to stay in a beautiful place. It was perfect for our dog as the garden is contained and everything was provided for all we needed for him including a dog tag with the cottage address details. I so enjoyed our evening walk in the large dog walking area, with spectacular valley views. The delicious cream tea on arrival was such a great welcome and everything you would need for a holiday was there, the beds were so comfortable too. We loved doing the coastal path walk from Combe Martin to ilfacombe and saunton sands was a great place to walk the dogs. We loved it so much, we will definitely be returning. Thank you so much.
Nutcombe Cottgae
By Srah, Mark Toby & Oscar & Dogs on 24-Apr-2025What a great time we had at Nutcombe Cottage over Easter having spent 4 nights with our 2 boys aged 10 and 12, it had everything we needed and was extremely comfortable with a very welcome huge L-shaped sofa in the living room! The cottage is situated on the hillside in the valley that runs down to Combe Martin with spectacular views. Despite one day of rain when we took refuge in Ilfracombe's historic and nostalgic cinema we were able to explore the local area and take in a number of popular walks during the week. I'd encourage anyone who'd like a comfortable, friendly and welcoming base from which to explore Exmoor and the surrounding area to stay at Jackie and David's lovely cottage.
Nutcombe Cottage
By Jules, Mark & Two Dogs on 02-Sep-2024We can only echo what has already been said - in addition for us: great enclosed dog area, large hilly field on the property for exercising the dogs (& us), lovely touch scones & tea on arrival which we had on the sunny terrace overlooking lovely peaceful scenery. Very clean and well equipped cottage. Lots of places to visit in the local area. We very much enjoyed our stay (beginning Sept 24) and can definitely recommend the cottage with its enclosed safe garden, a great place for adults and 4 legged friends!
