Nutcombe Cottage

By Laura, David Sam & Ozzy the dog on 04-Oct-2024

Returned home today after a weeks stay in Nutcombe Cottage. What can we say - it’s a beautiful cottage, inside and out. The interior felt homely & cosy. Beds were super comfy! The location is just stunning, secluded enough that you feel you’re in a little peaceful, paradise valley but also only a few minutes drive from Combe Martin with shops, pubs and the beach! Brilliant fast Wi-Fi and tv with plenty of channels kept a teenage boy happy. Jackie and David are friendly and welcoming hosts - and we loved the personal touch of the “welcome cream tea” after a long journey! Our dog LOVED the garden - a well sized private enclosed garden, plus the enclosed dog garden for a run off the lead AND the bigger, beautiful meadow further down to enjoy! David’s own garden is gorgeous and it’s clear he works so hard to maintain this. We will definitely be coming again - the perfect relaxing break we all needed.

We can only echo what has already been said - in addition for us: great enclosed dog area, large hilly field on the property for exercising the dogs (& us), lovely touch scones & tea on arrival which we had on the sunny terrace overlooking lovely peaceful scenery. Very clean and well equipped cottage. Lots of places to visit in the local area. We very much enjoyed our stay (beginning Sept 24) and can definitely recommend the cottage with its enclosed safe garden, a great place for adults and 4 legged friends!

Had a lovely week in Nutcombe Cottage, beautifully laid out, lovely cream tea on arrival. The setting is blissfully peaceful, and will definitely be coming back. The rolling Devon Hills view out the windows just made it the more special, felt so private even though you have neighbours. Plenty to do in the local area, went Kayaking to Caves and the beaches are sublime. Literally cannot fault the entire holiday. Big Thank you to the Hosts for giving us the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful Barn conversation. The owners were always helpful & kind.

WOW WOW WOW Just returned from Fantastic stay in June at Nutcombe Cottage a beautifully appointed cleverly designed and well equiped detached cottage with stunning views from the lounge and balcony above ground floor bedrooms leading to secure gardens and absolutely perfect for our Cavapoo Ruby . Lovely Host Jackie warmly welcomed us with a delicious homemade cream tea . WOW . Jackie’s husband David invited us to use the cottages adjacent mown lawn / secure paddock for playtime with Ruby which was brilliant and to wander Nutcombe’s beautifully maintained pretty terraced gardens and lower valley walk which we did and take in the stunning view . The cottage was beautifully rustic very clean and cosy inside with quality furnishings very very well equiped . Fantastic hot powerful shower - WOW and very very comfortable bedding for Best ever sleep . Zzzzz…..Pure tranquility and Late morning breakfast on the balcony …..such peace and quiet only birdsong -and natural spring water from the tap - we’ve not had that anywhere else except Nutcombe - absolutely priceless . WOW. Jackie’s recommendations for fresh local restaurants etc were excellent particularly Sunday Roast at Black Venus at Challacombe and Watersmeet at Lynmouth great for a stunning dog walk . Jackie and David THANK YOU soooo much for our stay .We hope to return and have been telling all our friends and family our WOWS at Nutcombe .

Our second stay at Nutcombe Farm and as always the cottage is very well presented and comfortable. The scones were amazing and much needed. We visited the Wildlife And Dinosaur Park in COmbe Martin & Watermouth Castle, a few miles out of Combe Martin. So great to have 2 days of things to do that were so close. Thank you once again Jackie :)

Just come back from a week''s holiday in Nutcombe Cottage. Lovely cottage, comfy, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Everything is to a high standard. Lovely position just 10 mins from Combe Martin. Nice garden paddock for our 2 flatcoated retrievers if we didn''t feel like going to the beach. When we came back from the beach with 2 sandy and wet dogs able to put them through a side gate and leave them on the decking just outside the lounge door until they were dry and brushed. Jackie and David were friendly hosts. Looking forward to our next visit.
