About this spaceWelcome to Gildridge, a stunning private estate in East Sussex comprising a 17th Century Manor House, 2 adjacent cottages with 6 acres, tennis court and 3 hot tubs. The moment you step through our gates you will feel right at home at this secluded hideaway from the hustle and bustle of modern day living.The Gildridge Estate is perfectly suited for large family groups of up to 32 people when using some fold up guest beds. Please enquire re wedding celebrations, parties, events including marquees.
The space
*All the three houses can be booked separately also they can be booked all at once
Main House:
Internally, the main house has a spacious reception hall with a tiled floor and staircase to the first floor. The formal reception room includes a characterful double aspect drawing room with an inglenook fireplace and wood burner. The kitchen/breakfast room has a range of recently fitted wall and base units and double doors leading out to the gardens. A useful utility room and a cloakroom complete the ground floor accommodation.
On the first floor, the principal bedroom has a shower room with twin sinks. There are five further bedrooms, one of which has an en suite bathroom, as well as a family bathroom.
In addition to the main house there are two cottages. Cottage 1 has a sitting/dining room. It also has a kitchen, cloakroom and two first floor bedrooms (one with en suite bathroom). Cottage 2 is attached to the garage and offers an open plan sitting/dining room with kitchen area, a bathroom and a first-floor open plan bedroom accessed via a feature spiral staircase.
The beautiful mature landscaped gardens surround the house and
include paved terraces, gardens, lawned areas, a tennis court and attractive ponds. Beyond the gardens there are paddocks and in all the property extends
to about 6.35 acres.
*Main House Bed Layout:
There are six bedrooms, three king size, two doubles and a twin room.
We have added a double sofa bed to each of the large en-suite rooms and there is also one in the lounge.
*The White Cottage:
The cottage offers an open plan sitting/dining room with kitchen area, a bathroom and a first-floor bedroom which features a double bed and two single beds in the same area and can be accessed via a feature spiral staircase. There is a low sloping ceiling.
*The Cottage at Gildridge:
The Cottage at Gildridge has a sitting/dining room and a fully equipped kitchen, cloakroom and two first floor bedrooms (one with en suite bathroom).
Guest access
This includes exclusive access to the entire country home, as well as access to the tennis courts, children’s play area, and 6 acres of lawns and ponds on the Gildridge Country Estate. We are lucky enough to live amongst lovely countryside; ducks, dear, rabbits and other wildlife can occasionally be seen in the grounds.
Each hot tub is available for a minimum stay of two nights and must be requested at least 48 hours in advance. An additional charge of £46 per night applies.
Other things to note
*We are not currently licensed for weddings but are able to host wedding celebrations.
*Weddings and events must be agreed with us prior to booking. We do not allow noisy partys, raves etc etc. There are noise limitations after 9 pm.
*Guests must provide their IDs before check-in.
*High chairs, travel cots, and stair gates must be requested at least 24 hours before arrival, subject to availability. We do not supply linen, quilts, or other bedding for the travel cot.
*The tennis court is free to use. Rackets and balls can be supplied with 24 hours' notice, subject to availability.
*The property includes two areas for children to play.
*The home offers an EV charger with contactless payment, located in the parking area behind the White Cottage.
*Coffee pods, instant coffee, tea, and sugar are supplied for each stay.
*Washing machine and dishwasher tablets are provided.
*We will send access codes prior to arrival.
*Due to insurance restrictions, log burners are not available for use.
*No sellotape, Blu-Tack, or similar materials may be used to affix decorations to surfaces, including walls, within the property.
*Fireworks are not permitted due to the proximity of horses and dogs.
*No music is allowed outside during quiet hours from 9pm to 9am.
*Dog Friendly (up to 8 dogs per stay)

Perfect stay

Kitchens very well equipped, tennis court impeccable, rooms are spacious and clean, the garden is stunning. Main cottage is very old and charming, you feel home the moment you step inside. great host, great communication. thank you
Great service
By Gemma on 22-Sep-2024We stayed here with 18 people and the hosts were really lovely. There was an issue with the electrics on arrival and they had people in fixing it straight away. They took us round the house and explained how everything worked and when we had questions during our stay they were very quick to respond! The house was great for a big group and the grounds were nice! Would definitely recommend for a big group stay.
