Description

Overview:

Escape to West Dorset's countryside with our charming 3-bedroom cottage rental. Housed in an old granary building, it blends history with modern comforts, featuring a newly modified kitchen and small garden, which catches the morning light. Ideal for couples, families, or friends, the location offers tranquillity by the sea, countryside walks and excellent local pubs near the bustling town of Bridport. Our cottage promises an idyllic retreat for all preferences.

Our property:

As you enter the cottage, there is a small hallway leading to an open plan living room/dining room. The dining table accommodates six people, and the living room features two generously sized sofas, an armchair, and a footrest. Additionally, the living room is equipped with a Smart TV, allowing guests to use their own details to log in and access various channels, including Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Apple TV, among others. The living room is enhanced by an electric fire and is well lit throughout.

Continuing beyond the dining room through to the back of the property, you'll find the kitchen, complete with cooking essentials such as pots and pans, tableware, glasses, and mugs. Complimentary tea and coffee are also provided for your stay. The kitchen features a 4-point induction hob, built-in extractor fan, dishwasher, ample worktop space, and a built-in fridge with a freezer box. One of the windows in the kitchen offers a view of the back garden, while another overlooks the driveway. The downstairs bathroom with a bath, handheld shower, and washing machine / tumble dryer cupboard can be accessed from either the kitchen or living room.

A stable door in the kitchen leads to the back garden, where you'll find a paved area with a 4-seat table and chairs, as well as an outdoor sofa. Cushions are available for the outdoor furniture. The cottage spans two floors, with the stairs conveniently located just off the living room. On the first floor, you'll find one bathroom and three bedrooms. The first bedroom features a king-sized bed, the second has twin beds, and the third includes a small double bed accessible on one side only. A bathroom with a shower and toilet is also located on this floor.

Free parking is available throughout the village, and one designated parking space can be found by driving up the driveway and parking outside the left-hand side garage.

About the area:

The quiet village of Shipton Gorge is surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful countryside. The area is known for its natural beauty and there are lots of walking paths and trails for those who enjoy outdoor activities.

Shipton Gorge has a local pub, the New Inn, as well as a playground and football pitch. You can often collect eggs from the village centre, leaving money in an honesty box.

The closest beach is Hive in Burton Bradstock, which is under 2 miles away and a lovely walk from the cottage.

Also located near Shipton Gorge is West Bay, a picturesque harbour with stunning red cliffs - the best spot to eat fish & chips. It's also a location used for filming the TV series "Broadchurch".

The nearby local town of Bridport offers a great deal to do too, including a market every Wednesday & Saturday, a local arts centre and plenty to eat and drink.
