Description
La Grange Sud is a large, luxury holiday villa consisting of two accommodation areas within one holiday home. This may be the perfect way to holiday with family and friends, as you can all be together, however still have your own space including two sitting rooms and two kitchens. The Farmhouse has four en suites and The Barn has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The Farmhouse and The Barn are linked via an oak door from their sitting rooms.
The four bedroom Farmhouse is available for long winter lets from October until mid May, please enquire for more details. Please also enquire for low occupancy rates if you are interested in renting The Farmhouse in Spring or Autumn. The attached Barn would not be rented to anyone else during your stay.
La Grange Sud is a fantastic holiday home that caters for all sizes of groups. Whatever type of holiday you are looking for, the very well equipped accommodation has something for all ages and interests.
There are Flights from all over uk to Bergerac, which is only a 20 minute drive to the villa.
LOCATION
The villa is located at the end of a tiny 200 metre lane which means it is very peaceful and safe for children. It is situated in a beautiful, peaceful part of the Dordogne, close to medieval Bergerac and surrounded by vineyards, plum orchards and woodlands, perfect for a relaxing holiday. The villa overlooks Chateau Vigiers Golf course which also has a Michelin Star restaurant, brasserie and spa. Our guests receive a generous reduction of 25% on golf rounds.
The villa is easy to reach by either driving or flying. It is a consistent, enjoyable and picturesque 6 hour drive from St Malo or Caen. The drive is only 20 minutes from Bergerac airport or 90 minutes from Bordeaux airport.
HEATED POOL WITH RETRACTABLE COVER
Guests love the stunning heated, salt pool with super views. The pool has the sun all day and is also a wonderful place to enjoy the sun sets. There are plenty of sunloungers under large sun shades. For poolside dining guests have the choice of a huge Kettler dining table with lots of chairs as well as a smaller Kettler table and chairs next to the glass balastrade.
The pool also benefits from a retractable cover which is very easy to use. It has the benefit of keeping the water as warm as possible meaning guests can swim in any weather conditions and also at night.
Families with younger children will enjoy the Wendy House and Little Tikes play area. There are lovely views from the pool terrace over the Lower Garden and also across woodlands and the golf course. The pool is open and warm from Easter until mid November.
LARGE JACUZZI
The jacuzzi is located on the deck in front of The Barn and has wonderful views across the valley. Guests can enjoy it at any time of the day and it is quite special to watch the stars light up the sky, whilst sipping a glass of wine.
The decked area in front of The Barn also has a large Day Bed for total relaxation as well as dining table and chairs.
The jacuzzi is complimentary during school holidays or for holidays of more than one week. At other times there is a £250 charge per week. Please let me know in advance if you wish to use it.
BEDROOMS
All 6 bedrooms have air-conditioning which is essential for a good nights sleep in the warmer months in the Dordogne and the villa is one of only a few Dordogne holiday villas to have this feature.
The Farmhouse has four Bedrooms.
All four Farmhouse bedrooms are en suite with hairdryers, heated towel rails, large walk in showers, Grohe sanitary ware, shaver sockets and mirrors, luxury Bedeck bedding and towels including pool towels, flat screen TVs.
Two ground floor bedrooms;
The Lavender Suite has beautiful views and direct access to the large balcony which has a glass balustrade so as not to interrupt the lovely views. It also has views over the pool area, en suite shower room, a super king bed with memory foam mattress and a single bed.
The Jaune Suite has a large en suite bathroom with original cast iron bath. It has a super king bed which can convert to twin beds if preferred.
Two first floor bedrooms, both with views over the countryside;
The Rose Suite has an en suite shower room, a super king bed and a single bed.
The Verte Suite has an en suite shower room, and a choice of a super king bed or twin beds.
The adjoining Barn has two Bedrooms on the first floor.
The main bedroom has a super king bed. There is also a twin bedroom. These two rooms share a luxury bathroom on the first floor with double ended Sotttini bath and wash basin with marble top. There is also a shower room on the ground floor.
The barn has super views over orchards, vines and the golf course.
LARGE GARDENS AND GROUNDS
There are extensive grounds of two acres to enjoy with space for everyone. Lots of thought has gone into providing areas for guests to sit and relax in.
The Upper Garden is a one acre space with the pool area, the circular enclosed driveway and a huge garden with a super size trampoline with enclosure and steps, children's play area.
The Lower Garden is accessed from the pool terrace down wide steps. This is a very beautiful, peaceful area with a seating area around a covered well for al fresco dining and sun downers. Relax with a book in the swinging hammocks or enjoy a game of table tennis here too.
Guests can also reach the Lower Garden by taking a stroll down the little lane and then following a grassy path alongside the golf course. Dog owners particularly enjoy this walk as well as families with young children who wish to enjoy a short stroll.

FAMILY PETS
We have been welcoming much loved family dogs very successfully and indeed with many returning each year. The majority of local restaurants and vineyards welcome them too. There are lovely walks directly from the house through the vineyards and along the single track lanes. It is very easy to bring them on the ferry in the dog friendly cabins.

We have chefs for our guests to choose from offering a range of dining options including; canapés, bbq boxes, meals for your arrival, fixed price menus and celebration dinners...the choice is yours!
WALKING, CYCLING AND WINE TASTING
The villa is surrounded by a network of single, track lanes without hedges and very few cars, which are perfect for cycling and walking. One of the great joys in rural France is to enjoy a walk or cycle to a local restaurant.
We have strong links with several local, family and dog friendly vineyards for our guests to also enjoy.
We can also arrange wine tasting in the comfort of the villa if you prefer.
KITCHEN AND DINING
The Farmhouse
The large kitchen has views over the pool area and has lots of character with the original ancient bread oven and oak beams, oak units, cream Range Master stove, Bosch fridge-freezer, integrated washing machine and dishwasher, Italian glass table with 4 chairs.
The dining room leads from the kitchen and has a large table with 8 chairs.
The Barn
The ground floor area has an open plan kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has granite work surfaces, large Rangemaster stove, Bosch fridge freezer, range of oak units, built in Neff microwave, integrated dishwasher and washing machine. It is extensively stocked with Le Creuset and Joseph Joseph. Lovely views from the sink down the little lane and over vineyards. The dining area has seating for four guests and has lovely views across the valley.
LIVING ROOMS
The Farmhouse
The sitting room has a beautiful character cherry ceiling and oak beams. It is open plan with the dining area and has wonderful views through the frenchdoors over plum orchards and the golf course. A large balcony with retractable sun canopy leads from this sitting area through French doors.
The Barn
Large, open plan living area with a small seating area around the Humax TV. The barn has views over the orchards, vines and golf course, the same as the Farmhouse.
With a travertine floor and oak staircase, this is a lovely space. Comfortable reclining sofas with oak side tables.
BEDROOMS
We like to add little luxury touches for our guests with memory foam mattresses, romantic African nets, air conditioning, Bedeck bedding and fluffy towels.
The Farmhouse
The main Farmhouse has four en suite bedrooms.
Ground floor Lavender - super king bed plus a single bed for a child

First floor Rose - super king bed plus a single bed for a child

The Barn
On the first floor is a master bedroom with a super king bed and also a twin room.

All bathrooms have dedicated shaver mirrors and sockets, large walk-in showers, heated towels rails, Grohe fittings, large mirrors, hairdryers, bath mats and towels, oak fittings, Brabrantia bins.

Two large balconies with glass balustrades - one leads from the Farmhouse sitting room and one leads from The Barn

Parking and garages
The villa is situated at the end of a 200 m small lane.
Gates lead guests onto a large circular driveway with parking for a minimum of 4 cars.
Visitor suitability
The villa warmly welcomes everyone, with extensive facilities provided for all ages and interests, however not suitable for wheelchairs due to the different levels in the house.

We have also invested in our complimentary Concierge Service, which is very much appreciated by our guests as it strives to ensure they enjoy a stress free holiday. We have developed strong links with local business since we began and the Concierge Service is continually developing.
Many of our guests return for many more holidays, either on their own, with friends or with their expanding families. This has naturally developed with requests for us to arrange special occasion events during a holiday or even Special Occasion Holidays.
