We loved everything about our week . We had a great welcome from Richard and Jeanette who had stocked the property up with some essentials for our arrival (the bottle of red wine was much appreciated!). They were brillant hosts the entire time we were there although we didn't really need to bother them as they had already thought of everything! The facilites and rooms were first class in all aspects - cleanliness, standard of furnishings, comfort and we slept well every night. The pool and outside area was immaculately maintained. Oh and did we mention the amazing view and the peace and quiet?! We can't recommend Labarthe highly enough. If we could give a 6 for our rating we would! Would definitely return.

Expectations did not disappoint for our third visit to this fantastic gite. Richard & Jeanette are the perfect hosts being close at hand for any advice or help, yet discrete & perfectly judged at giving you space for your holiday. The gite is perfectly equipped (& in these strange 2020 times meticulously cleaned), the welcome supplies generous & the pool & surroundings force relaxation & recharging! Duras has lovely restaurants, a good supermarket & regular markets so can supply all your holiday needs without you needing to venture further unless you wish. For our family of 4 we have found the perfect holiday destination to re-charge the batteries & will definitely be back again. Thanks so much Richard & Jeanette, stay safe & looking forward to our next visit already.
Richard and Jeanette continue to offer a fantastic place to relax and do as you please. The Gite and the services are first class and of their type would be hard to match, and I would venture to guess , harder to exceed. My partner and I will returning in 2019 for our fifth visit and although we also holiday elsewhere during the year this is the place where I always relish our return.
Labarthe gite is in a perfect spot, wonderful views in a beautiful setting and within a few minutes drive from the lovely village of Duras. We relaxed in the tranquil grounds of the gite, we canoed on the Dordogne and we enjoyed delicious local food in the Duras weekly street market. The nicest property we have stayed in, Jeanette and Richard were lovely hosts.
Well. what should I say, it was okay...it was functional.. well this what I would normally say about a French Gite. But not this one, it is very different, the bathrooms are smart and modern, the bedrooms are comfy, the lounge area is relaxing with excellent facilities including tv and the garden area and pool are superb.. The owners know what they are doing. You want a relaxing and comfortable break then this is it. Duras is great. The area is great. The owners are great. I am now worried I will never be able to return because they will always be booked! The view form the terrace is superb. By the way, the photo's do not do it justice! I am so happy I introduced my daughters to St Emilion and Duras here. What a find. I would recommend A++++++
