A wonderful base to explore the area

By K Mackenzie on 26-Aug-2024

The property was perfect for our family holiday. There was plenty to see and do within a short drive and the pool and outdoor space provided the ideal place to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather. Sarah and Nick are fantastic hosts and gave us lots of useful recommendations during our stay. They are on hand if needed but the house still feels very private. The house is very well equipped and 5 minutes walk from a lovely village. The restaurant is a must visit. 8/26/2024 at 8:34 AM

Fabulous stay in a gorgeous gite

By Breens on 24-Aug-2024

One week wasn't enough! Loved the gite, outdoor dining/seating areas and private swimming pool. The outdoor kitchen was genius and we spent every evening outside cooking, eating, relaxing and enjoying the pool. Really well equipped and characterful gite, comfortable beds and fresh, clean bathrooms with great showers. Excellent location with plenty to do including canoe trips down the river (we did a 20km trip from Carsac to Castelnaud, stunning scenery along the way - leave your car at Castelnaud and the canoe company buses you to Carsac), cave visits (several around, we visited Tourtoirac and were not disappointed), the 14km Velorail (so much fun and just down the road), beautiful towns (St Jean de Cole, Beynac, Perigueux), French markets (we loved Thivier market), brocantes, the list goes on. Sarah and Nic are delightful and were always on hand to offer help and friendly advice on the area, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended! A massive thank you from us all for a wonderful holiday.

1st Class Gite in great location

By Pete and Mal on 18-Aug-2024

We stayed here for a week with family members - 6 adults in total - we all very much enjoyed our stay . Sarah and Nic are great hosts making sure we were comfortable and on hand if needed but otherwise didn’t intrude. Nic made us aware of local events and kindly booked a great restaurant for us in Thiviers. We thoroughly enjoyed the 10min stroll into Corgnac sur l’isle for breakfast croisants and coffee at the local sports bar and then taking the riverside walk back, The men spent a few hours fishing on the river ‘successfully ‘!! The house and grounds are just as described and there’s lots of crockery cutlery and cooking utensils . The outdoor kitchen area is well equipped for lazy evening meals in the garden, The beds are very comfortable as are the sofas although we didn’t spend any time in the huge lounge as the weather was so good, There’s lots of wildlife and birds around for nature lovers too . Totally recommend this gite, Thank you!

Lovely stay We really enjoyed our stay at Gite Peyre St Front. Sarah and Nic were great hosts. Friendly, responsive and very helpful. The house and grounds were beautiful, as described and probably the best equipped French property I have ever stayed in. The village is beautiful and the area quiet and unspoilt

Sarah and Nick were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The gite is charming and it feels like a home away from home. Its well stocked and full of little thoughtful touches. the outdoor space is incredible we spent most of our time in the garden playing in the pool and sitting by the river. The outdoor kitchen is a god send and makes it easy to live outside. We miss our morning walks for the bread and coffee at the sports spa. Theres a lot to visit nearby we’d recommend a night in Perigeaux and a visit to Jean St de Cole. Thiviers is the nearest town great food at Le Goch. A perfect family holiday.
