Description
OVERVIEW
Located on a hill with magnificent uninterrupted views, "L'Ancien Chai" is perfect for families who want a rural setting without being remote. Also great for family and friends gatherings as we have plenty of space. L'Ancien Chai is part of a converted farm.
We enjoy a south facing patio with amazing evening sunsets to enjoy with a glass of wine. Bright and open plan, the ground floor living space comprises dining area, kitchen and lounge with log fire burner. We have free wifi with really good download strength. There are lovely views from every bedroom window, especially from the upstairs bedrooms which can see for miles.
The fantastic views and sunsets are great for painters and photographers. BBQ outdoors. Surrounded by corn and sunflower fields.
SWIMMING POOL AND TENNIS COURT
Our friendly owner-occupier site shares a large 7 x 14m pool and tennis court with 6 other homes.
The pool was substantially upgraded in 2018 offering much more easy access for children, disabled and elderly. The pool has a security fence (legal requirement in France) that makes it safe for little children running about the gardens as they won't be able to stray in to the pool area. The swimming pool is open from the late May to late October.
There is also a full sized tennis court on site and we provide tennis rackets. The court was resurfaced in 2020 and is great.
THE HOUSE
Indoors we have spacious accommodation with log burning fire. The atmosphere is light and airy with an open-plan feel. There is a large new SMART satellite TV with Netflix, UK channels. DVD/video/CD collection. DVD/blu-ray player. Excellent free wifi with strong signal. Games, jigsaws, boules, tennis rackets. 4 adults bicycles and one child.
We have a baby's cot and high chair available.
The house (or gite) L'Ancien Chai is situated on the edge of a small group of privately owned properties. The place was once a farm with L'Ancien Chai having magnificent views to the south, west and east. Our house is very private from the others and you will feel you have the place to yourselves.
MOBILITY ACCESSABILITY
Parking is available adjacent to the house. Walking access from the car park, via garden and patio into the house is all flat and suitable for wheelchairs. There is a 10cm internal step between the kitchen and rest of the living area and we can provide a ramp for wheelchair access. There is good wheelchair disabled access on the ground floor. There is a 10cm step on ground floor from the kitchen area to the rest of the house but we can provide a ramp for a wheelchair, please let us know if you need this. In 2023 we installed a new walk-in shower in the ground floor bathroom.
This is a non-smoking residence. Sorry, no pets.
