Overview
Description
Alpaca Cottage is a one bedroom luxury gem set in a quiet and gorgeous corner of Dorset. Near the coast, it's perfect for walkers, cyclists or relaxers!!Alpaca Cottage has been subject to a 10 month luxury refurbishment. With the sitting room/kitchen, double bedroom and designer en-suite all located on the ground floor, it is ideal for those with limited mobility. The cottage has stunning views over a large meadow (laid out by 'Capability 'Brown) where our herd of 15 alpacas live, and you would be welcome to participate at feeding time. For an extra charge we can also offer Alpaca walking to our guests at the cottage.
Alpaca cottage is self-contained and adjoins on one side the owner's house, and has a separate outside area for al-fresco meals or drinks. Located off a private road, and set in the midst of numerous footpaths, as well as just by the National Cycle Path ( bicycles are available for rent) , this is a superb location for the active, or for those just wanting to kick back and relax. The cottage is also close to the beautiful River Frome, which can be walked beside, or even paddled in! The wonderful Jurassic Coast is just 10 miles away, and the historic county town of Dorchester just 5 miles away. We are also keen classic car enthusiasts (Jaguars in particular) so you will often have a chance to examine beautiful 50s and 60s classic cars at close quarters.
There is a small patio area outside the front door, with a table and chairs for 2 plus 2 visiting friends. Guests may roam the 5 acre grounds, with permission. Beyond this, there are numerous lovely walks in all directions. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included. Changed once a week. Other: Small walk-in hanging cupboard beyond bathroom. While there isn't a washing machine in the cottage, guests can make use of a washer/dryer situated in the adjacent barn, which is exclusively for their use. We provide a comprehensive guide to things to see and do locally, including recommended local pubs and restaurants, walks etc etc. This is a truly idyllic spot either for a romantic short break, or a longer stay.

Leave ReviewFantastic cottage and location!
By Helena & Pete on 27-Dec-2024We booked late and really needed a quick break, Paul was great and even responded on Christmas day. The cottage was exactly as described, really well presented and comfortable with quality interiors and the view to the alpacas made this break very special! Jane (Paul's sister) was onsite during our stay and was extremely welcoming and helpful when needed. We loved our stay and will definitely be back again, thank you all!
