It is part of a large historic traditional stone bank barn and even has stunning views to the sea. The Creamery has recently been converted to a high standard and is a stunning property located in a magical setting for you to easily explore the beautiful sandy beaches, hidden rocky coves and the South West coastal path. Some people come just to get away from it all - like a retreat. Great for family holidays, couples, a group of walkers, special occasions and even a honeymoon.

Accommodation:
The Creamery has an idyllic south facing french-style gravel and grass courtyard, perfect for sunbathing, enjoying a Devon cream tea, or playing boule ( Petanque balls provided). Parking :
Free easy parking for two cars. If you have a boat or an extra car, that can be parked in the main drive of Wild Goose Barn - please ask owners.

Access:
Guests especially like The Creamery because although tucked away in the countryside and very peaceful it also has easy road access unlike many properties in Devon that are down very long and narrow Devon lanes! Its location makes it perfect to explore in all directions with easy access to a number of beaches so you can do different beaches easily on different days and easily access the local towns and tourist attractions too.

Surrounding Area:
The Creamery is surrounded by beautiful open fields, and rolling Devon countryside in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and is nestled on the edge of the delightful historic Kingston village with its own village pub, the Dolphin Inn with local real ales. A number of stunning local sandy beaches are in walking distance, including Wonwell beach, Aymer Cove, Westcombe beach, and Bigbury on Sea beach and Burgh island. A short car journey takes you to Bigbury on Sea, Mothercombe beach, Thurlestone beach, Bantham beach, Hope Cove, and the North and South Sands beaches in the delightful town of Salcombe. The South West Coastal Path runs close by for any walkers and Dartmoor National Park is easily reachable with its fells just 25 minutes drive away with stunning views, its ten Torrs, waterfalls and rivers for a great day out. Burgh Island (and The hotel of Agatha Christie fame) at Bigbury on Sea is just a 15 minute drive away with its infamous beach tractor and the Pilchard Inn for fresh crab sandwiches. The Journeys End, an award winning pub with its real ales and terrific food, is also close by in Ringmore village. And for golfers, Bigbury Golf Club is a great course that also does take away food and is just 10 mins away with incredible sea views from the greens. The list of things to do and see are endless.

Water sports:
There are so many opportunities to get out on the water too. Bigbury's sandy beach with a cafe and facilities is great for swimming, surfing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. (There is a surf school (Discovery) at Bigbury beach where surfboards, paddleboards and sea kayaks can be hired).
Modbury (10 mins drive) is the local market town with butcher, baker, chemist, Coop, Indian take away and antique shops. Local farm shops in abundance. Kingsbridge ( 15-20 mins drive ) has a cinema, quaint cafes and restaurants and local supermarkets (Tesco and Morrisons). Tesco, Morrisons and Waitrose all deliver.
The local village shop and Post Office in St Ann's Chapel (4 min drive) stocks most basic things and local food products.

Special occasions/honeymooners/anniversary - tailored packages:
The Creamery can also host a perfect peaceful romantic setting for honeymoon couples or for couples who wish to get away from it all and enjoy a special occasion. The owners will be delighted to discuss adding a few extras to help make your stay even more special (champagne and flowers on arrival, a cream tea, a starter grocery pack, a late night first supper after a long wedding day, a first continental breakfast with a basket of hot croissants, and a Burgh Island Hotel romantic dinner are just a few things than can be organised). Please discuss your requirements with the owners.

Great if you want to book 7 night stays or more but please do contact owners for SHORTER stays outside the higher season / school holiday weeks.

Please discuss your requirements with the owners. and for.shorter stay prices ask the owners. We normally ask for 4 nights minimum outside school holidays.

Superb cottage

By Roy Moseley on 08-Sep-2023

We had a wonderful week at The Creamery and the owners Simon and Rachel made us feel very welcome. The accommodation was fabulous and very comfortable and the location is great within easy reach of numerous beaches some of which we walked to. I would recommend this property to anyone. We came home feeling refreshed after a good break having done loads of walking. We will be returning in the future for sure.
