Description

Property Description

Daisy Cottage is a 2 bedroom barn conversion. It is extremely well insulated keeping it cool in summer and warm in winter. The cottage faces south-west and so is in the sun for most of the day.

The ground floor provides a light and airy open-plan living area with a fitted kitchen, dining table and a lounge area with cosy wood burner. Full height windows extend the living space, opening out onto a south-facing patio and graveled courtyard that provide the perfect suntrap from which to enjoy a morning cup of tea or al-fresco dining. The modern bathroom includes a shower over the bath and under floor heating.

Upstairs there are two comfortable bedrooms with exposed beams and stripped wood floors, reflecting the character of the original building. The master bedroom is equipped with a comfortable double divan bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe with space for a travel cot or standard cot which can be supplied on request. There are far reaching views over the surrounding Devon countryside from the master bedroom. The second bedroom is equipped with two full size single divan beds, chest of drawers and wardrobe.

Facilities and services:

Bed linen and towels included. Electric heating and logs for wood burner included. Space for a cot for additional infant in the double bedroom - please request when booking if required. Highchair and Stair Gate also available on request.

If you require additional accommodation for a second family etc. Buttercup Cottage is available next door which can be booked separately subject to availability.

Amenities:

There is a mini market at the local garage at Wilmington stocking fresh milk and bread and a basic range of groceries. Also in Wilmington, there is a small farm shop and a thatched pub serving a range of local beers and good local food.

The market town of Honiton (4 miles) has a good range of local shops and a twice weekly street market. Similarly Axminster (7 miles), has a weekly market and boasts the Riverside Cottage shop. Colyton is a smaller town, with interesting little shops, including the award winning Colyton Butchers.

The entire area is rich with excellent country pubs, restaurants and coffee shops. We will be pleased to provide you with our recommendations.

The Roman city of Exeter with its beautiful cathedral and green, and Taunton, the county town of Somerset, are both approximately 18 miles distant. For shoppers, either of these offers a full range of High Street chain stores and individual shops.

Cosy accommodation

Clean cosy accommodation. Comfy bed. Everything we needed for a 2 night stay. Good location for walking, beeches and towns.

Lovely cottage

By Wolfram N on 29-Mar-2018

We had a wonderful week in Daisy Cottage. The first two days there was lots of snow and it was warm and cosy inside the house. We loved the woodburner in the evening. The cottage is very well equiped and you can find everything you need such as hairdryer, hand washing liquid... The kids loved the comfortable and cosy beds. So did we. We all slept wonderful. We did lots of walking during the week such as the coastpath from Beer to Branscombe. Many thanks to Tony for the warm welcome. We really enjoyed the scones. We would love to come back to Daisy Cottage and beautiful Devon on day. We took all the way from Germany and it was definitly worth it.

Very pleasant and enjoyable stay

By rskings on 03-Jan-2018

This is our third stay and will be coming again. Daisy Cottage is a very nice little cottage indeed, everything is included and lovely touches such as mince pies, and milk for our arrival make all the difference. Christmas decorations were very nice to see too! Tony as always was very welcoming and friendly. Thank you! Karen, Rich and Will Kings
