I've read in reviews here that the Watermill is even better than it looks on the website, and having just returned from one of the most relaxing weeks of our lives, we can 100% confirm that. There is so much space, inside and out, and it's all absolutely beautiful. We had plans to see things in the surrounding area, but a week wasn't long enough to simply soak up the peace and beauty - we rarely left the mill! Favourite things to do - walk through the beautiful flora in the cool of the morning to fetch baguettes from the bread vending machine in the village (I kid you not), have a morning cuppa or lunch at the table under the vines, sit reading in the 'secret garden' (as we called it), eat supper out by the bread oven, nominate a family member to distract the biggest and greediest (but also super-friendly and cute) goat so the other goats, and the ducks and chickens, can all have something to eat at feeding time, swim in the pool, of course (which is also bigger than it looks in the photos) ... I could go on and on. Everywhere you go you are serenaded by babbling brooks and surrounded by the most beautiful gardens. Please read all the other reviews - I agree with every word. We will definitely be coming back, hopefully next year, and for longer. Thank you so much, Jason and Marie-Laure, you are the most perfect hosts.
Shamefully we did very little. We had great plans to explore this beautiful region of France, but the tranquil paradise was so enthralling we just didn’t want to leave it. The tropical gardens, feeding the goats, ducks, hens (and feeding the fish in the Mill Race), playing with the security cat, and of course the beautiful pool. You are spoilt for choice of where to relax, sun or shade, and inside the luxurious lounge is so comfy with a huge TV. However, we very rarely used it, choosing to be outside from dawn to dusk. No review can capsule the beauty of the place, and the lavish welcoming basket plus the fresh produce that arrived on our doorstep mid week was more than an added bonus. Jason and Marie-Laurie are the perfect hosts with the right balance of being available but also unobtrusive and so very laid back and helpful (even to the point of providing last minute oil for the car which would have broken down on drive back without it!) The bed was super comfy, the bath luxurious, everywhere so tastefully furnished. We couldn’t fault a thing. We have stayed in so many rentals over the years I can can honestly say this far surpasses anywhere else. But hey don’t take my word for it…. See it for yourself. We will definitely be back, and next time perhaps we will be a little more adventurous. Thank you so much to you both for such a wonderful week. The place and yourselves are awesome. As Alison said… you have nailed it! Read less Visited August 2022
The warmest welcome from great hosts and it just gets better from there. We had the most wonderful welcome basket which was very thoughtful and some stunning flowers. It’s been our third stay in this top quality property and each time the hosts have done more work and made it even better. The mill is steeped in history but has been converted so that is is super comfortable and done to the highest quality. They’ve really thought of everything, the garden is fully landscaped with a pool and is truly delightful. There’s a massive family room which is tastefully appointed and wonderful to relax in. There are goats, ducks and chickens in a contained area so you can mix with them if you love animals or keep your distance if you’re not sure. There are books and magazines for you to borrow, games to play, or just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. Lots of places to visit locally and Jason and Marie-Laure are happy to help with suggestions. The house is spotlessly clean and the grounds are very well maintained, it’s lovely to wander round them and appreciate everything that has been done. We’ve only just returned home and are already planning our next trip. Read less Visited May 2022
The first wow is when you arrive and drive through the beautifully landscaped gardens to the property. The wows don't stop there, this beautiful old building has been lovingly renovated while still retaining many original features including exposed beams, mill stones, machinery and the mill race running through the kitchen (which, along with the thick stone walls, helps to keep the property nice and cool. On arrival the kitchen was well stocked with fresh vegetables, eggs and the best welcome hamper we have ever seen! There is also a good stock of very reasonably priced wine so you never run out! We loved the original features, the mill race, the fresh flowers in the lounge, the heated pool, the old bread oven, the bbq, the table tennis, the streams, the sound of running water, the woodland walk, the goats, the hammock, the mill pond, the sunshine.......... there is so much about this place it is difficult to know where to begin (and end). The owners Jason and Marie-Laure are lovely and helpful (thanks for arranging the vets appointment) and they manage to be available and discreet at the same time. If you are looking for a peaceful break in rural France with plenty of places to visit, you can't go far wrong with this!
This was a beautiful watermill in an even more beautiful setting with great service! When we arrived at the watermill, we could not have received a warmer welcome from the owner. We enjoyed sitting outside on the Adirondack chairs looking out at the water. The watermill is in a quiet location.
Accueil chaleureux. Moulin rénové avec goût. La météo ne nous a pas permis de profiter des exterieurs qui sont vastes et bien entretenus .
