Description

Ty Gwyrdd (Green Cottage) was sympathetically renovated from a derelict barn by the Croft Family Builders in 2009 & has been used as a holiday let ever since. We've received some lovely reviews during this time with families returning several times. The cottage has retained some original features such as small windows with slate window sills & roof beams yet has modern facilities to ensure you enjoy your stay.
The cottage itself is furnished to a good standard throughout making it comfortable for couples alone, families or even 3 generations. During lock down we renewed some of the furniture including new Italian leather sofas & oak furniture in the lounge & are now awaiting our professional photographer to update the website in Summer 2024. The cottage sleeps 5/6 people + travel cot in 3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms, some on ground floor for ease of access. It uses oil central heating as well as solar panels to boost the hot water supply.
We hope you’ll enjoy using our well equipped oak kitchen with large farmhouse dining table that easily seats 6 +highchair. A Bosch ceramic hob & electric fan oven, slow cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, Bosch dishwasher & washing machine & tumble dryer are just some of the appliances available..

In the cosy lounge are 2 x 2 seater Italian leather sofas another chair plus additional cane seating in the conservatory/sun room. There is free WiFi & a new large screen LG Smart TV with Netflix (bring your code) Radio/CD Player, coffee table, lamp & under stair cupboard with all your airing, ironing, cleaning appliances.
Downstairs has a lovely tiled floor throughout so that your DOGS may enjoy being in any 3 of these communal living areas. Kitchen/dining room, living room & conservatory. The ground floor Twin Bedroom is carpeted & suits those who prefer to live/sleep on the ground floor. Next door is the downstairs shower room with a large shower cubicle & pull down mobility seat & hand rails, hand basin & toilet.
There are 2 more bedrooms upstairs, a large King Size Bedroom with Smart TV and space for our travel cot or child mattress if required. A light & spacious room with dual aspect, often rented by couples in the low season for a discount. A Single Room which can sleep 2 using a full size pull out truckle bed stored underneath the main bed. This is ideal for 2 children who need to sleep nearer their parents but best as a Single for 1 adult due to limited space once both beds are pulled out.
Along the carpeted hallway is a compact upstairs bathroom with a shower over the bath, glass bath panel, toilet & hand basin.
Beds are freshly made up for your arrival & towels provided for each person & hand towels in each bathroom. Kitchen linen & dishwashing tablets are provided for you. Please bring your own beach towels as ours are for cottage guest use only. Our aim is to be family friendly as well as pet friendly, therefore we offer travel cots, high chairs, stair gates, bed guards & more free of charge during your stay. There are also plenty of games, toys, books & cd's available.

There is parking for 2 cars right beside the cottage & a private enclosed garden which is ideal for bird watching or just relaxing & enjoying the spectacular sunsets & views whilst having a barbeque on the patio area. The garden is securely fenced adjoining 1 of our fields, often home to sheep or ponies. Note: Max 2 dogs.

Outside the conservatory is the patio area which has rustic furniture & amazing views & sunsets! We built a garage late in 2022 to house the recycling bins, BBQ, swing ball & other beach toys, kids surfboards, sun parasol, beach windbreak. It’s also good for storage of large items such as bikes & drying off wetsuits.
Beside the kitchen door is a little porch housing the washing machine, tumble dryer & laundry basket & pegs. The washing line is beside the garage just outside your fenced private garden area there is also an indoor drying rack. Our sheep or horses maybe in the paddock below the garden & love to see people!
