Description

A pretty stone detached cottage in a quiet location in rural, central Brittany, just a few minutes walk from the Brest to Nantes canal. This 2 bedroomed cottage has its own garden with lovely views and access to the communal garden where the shared, heated swimming pool (open May to September) and children's play area are located.
For families we can fit a cot or folding bed suitable for a child, or a cot in the 2nd bedroom. Please request this when booking. Towels and bedding are provided, but please bring your own pool/beach towels.
The bed for the 5/6th adult is a double sofa bed in the lounge.
We are situated between the villages of Rohan and Bréhan where you will find super marchés, boulangeries , bars and restaurants. They can be reached in 5 minutes by car, or 15 minutes on bike (which you can hire from us) or about 30 minutes if you prefer to walk along the canal.
Attractions like the Abbey de Timadeuc, an old Cistercian monastery is walking distance across the canal which is perfect for strolling or cycling, and the fascinating medieval village of Josselin, with its imposing Chateau and medieval buildings, shops and restaurants', is just 15 minutes away by car.
The beautiful beaches on the north and south coasts of Brittany can be reached in an hour. Inland lakes like Lac au Duc and Lac de Guerlédan are lovely places to stroll around it shoreline or enjoy a range of watersports. History buffs will love the prehistoric standing stones (menhirs)and tombs (dolmens) which are abundant in Brittany thanks to its Celtic heritage. Carnac (about an hour away) has more than 3000 of them!
Please note that we do not accept pets.
Due to the layout of this cottage it may not be suitable for people with mobility issues.
Minimum stays are: 2 nights from November to March, 3 nights in April to June and September and October and 7 nights beginning and ending in Saturday in July and August.

Beautiful Cottage in the heart of Brittany

By Lorna D on 25-Sep-2023

We went to this wonderful cottage for 2 weeks in September with our 3 year old. Pauline and Tony are super hosts, always there for queries and advice. Book direct through their website for competitive rates. The cottage is beautiful inside and out and fully equipped for all your needs. The view from the garden and pool is spectacular! The cottage is in a very rural area which is beautiful and quiet but situated in a great location to access many touristy and non-touristy locations. Only a short drive from Saint-malo after the over night Ferry (worth a walk around here when you arrive). We went on day trips to Josselin (more than once), Vannes, Paimpont, Pontivy, Carnac, Lorient (Submarine Museum) and to the beaches. Would recommend to all ages and all aged children too.

A fantastic location

By Ciaran on 11-Aug-2023

A fantastic location in rural France, surrounded by peaceful fields. Our stay was in a traditional rustic cottage that''''''''''''''''s been updated but still keeps it charm and offers a clean and cosy stay. Our hosts Tony & Pauline were lovely, very welcoming and accommodating to ensure a fabulous stay. They are both happy to share their wealth of knowledge of the local Rohan area, such as places to see, eat and shop in addition to locations a little further beyond. Heartfelt thanks to Tony & Pauline for our time there. We are a family of 4 (2x young teenage kids) and stayed for 8 nights. We''''''''''''''''d certainly be very happy to return for another stay in the future and would recommend anyone to stay at Coet Moru Gites.
