Le Grenier was just as it appeared in the ad except for the pool which was much nicer than it looked in the picture. The property was clean and had all we needed for our stay including pool towels which was a bonus. Our grandchildren had a lovely time playing in the pool and in the delightful grounds which had a playhouse with slide and swings. Again much nicer than the picture online shows. There are lovely towns and beaches within about 20 mins drive and the village of Corseul is only minutes by car but we found the Proxy shop a bit erratic in its opening times. I expect that's because we are so used to shops at home being open all day every day. The produce in France is of such good quality that we stayed in and ate when the children had gone to bed. The only thing I would have liked because we were in during the evening was a bigger more modern television* but the English channels were appreciated. I would certainly recommend Le Grenier to friends. We had a happy holiday there. *Owners comment The TV was updated the following week
Our family and friends, 19 in total visited La Julerie for a 1 week stay 17th Sept 2016. We ticked every box from the little ones to the Oldies. Clement and his lovely family were admirable hosts and met every single need possible, making our stay so very enjoyable! Clement's guitar playing was an added bonus when the sun was going down The various descriptions of each Gite are wholly accurate, the pool was fabulous for everyone and used every day. The games room was also a bonus for kids and adults alike. The location of La Julerie was the perfect base for getting out and about and gave us easy access for the many locations we visited. The weather was another added bonus, sunny and warm every day but not too much so, even allowing us to eat outside and bbq regularly. All in all a really great find and would absolutely recommend for large groups like ours!
My first experience of a complex style gite holiday. I am world traveller and I am chilled but fussy ... I like my space and tranquility and wasn't sure how I would get on with gites close together. However, stress over, La Julerie has great facilities in a really central location (having stayed in the Brittany region a fair few times) . It was a professional but warm and efficiently run complex with sypatheticially converted gites (there are four in total). The owners were very friendly aiding us with ferry and journey logistics and were very flexible with dates. Any really minor issues and Robert and family were there to sort and to offer advice on the surrounding area. There are plenty of beaches and Dinan being 10 mins away was great. The added bonus of an all weather pool - once up to warmth - was great for a small family and the opportunity to mingle (or not) with the provision of a communal area and ping pong (yeah) table meant that the kids and adults were well catered for. The complex is incredibly safe for families and it was great as urbanites to let your kids run free in the large but enclosed garden area. If you are a foody/chefy boy like me, then the halogen cooker, fan assisted oven and kitchen was well thought out. Outdoor, BBQs - even some modest cycle provision was a bonus. Showers and water provision fantastic. Wifi is patchy but hey, when you punching through centuries old norman stone what can you expect?
