Description

A perfect get away for two set amongst the rolling hills in a quiet corner of the Lake District National Park close to the many and varied attractions that make the Lake District - a UNESCO world heritage site - and the Furness Peninsular world famous.

The Visit England 4 star rated cottage with its own private entrance from a quiet lane has been built in the style of our adjacent Victorian School master’s house. The luxurious accommodation designed for two people is all on one level and is centrally heated for comfort whatever the weather.

The cottage has a sitting room and kitchen area, bedroom (superking size bed or twin beds) and a bathroom with separate bath and shower. Outside there is a patio, laundry room with washing machine & dryer, private parking and use of an extensive Lakeland garden.

Wake up to spectacular views, explore quiet country lanes or leave the car behind and follow ancient tracks and footpaths, cycle along quiet country lanes, take a boat on one of the many lakes or trek over the mountains. You don’t even have to leave your home from home – there’s nearly an acre of Lakeland garden: tea in the summerhouse overlooking the pond?

Awaiting your arrival we provide a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, biscuits or cake, a loaf of freshly baked bread from our local bakery and a pack of toiletries.
We provide free high speed WiFi via our full fibre network, together with all towels, bed linen, heating and lighting are provided (No hidden extras).

The Cottage is for up to two adults. We regret that it is not suitable for children or pets.

Weekly Bookings are from Friday to Friday. The Cottage will be available from 4 pm on the day of arrival to 9.30 am on the day of departure. Long weekend stays (Friday to Monday) are available on selected dates - please see our web site.

It's always cheaper to book directly with us than through an online travel agent

Lovely warm welcome from the owner, kind and thoughtful with little extra touches in the cottage, such as milk bread and biscuits

Cozy & Comfortable

By Guest from Germany on 03-Sep-2024

A cozy and comfortable, fully equipped flat in a beautiful landscape and - most important - with great hosts: That is Forest Field. We would come back any time, if we are looking for a place that offers great value for your money.

A delight to visit

By Guest from Darlington on 10-Aug-2024

It is a delight to visit Mary and Mike at Forest Field. As well as being sited in a beautiful garden the cottage is surrounded by lovely Lakeland countryside with local footpaths and woodland. We enjoy the self catering and peace and quiet

Small but well equipped, cosy and quiet

By Guest from Stockport on 20-Apr-2024

Small but well equipped, cosy and quiet, set in the middle of the countryside. There is welcome access to a fabulous garden and summerhouse overlooking a pond. Walks from the door and good local eating places.
