Made to feel very welcome. Jenny and Ken couldn't do enough for us..The place itself was really lovely and was kept immaculate. Thank you so much to Jen & Ken for helping my family & I to have the most wonderful time ever in Chalais. Your home & surrounding gardens are stunning. You provided us with all the information on beautiful places to visit nearby. Definitely worth renting a car to go explore the glorious French countryside & historic idyllic little nearby towns. France at its finest. We have made many lifetime memories. The fields & fields of gorgeous sunflowers will never be forgotten. I cannot recommend this holiday in Chalais enough. Thank you once again for making us feel so welcome & for helping us in every way you possibly could. We will never forget our holiday in Chalais.
Holiday · Family It was our first time at La Tannerie, from when we arrived and until we left Ken and Jen were first class hosts. Nothing was too small for them, also there to help us if needed. The swimming pool was 5 stars, the gite very clean and spacious. Only a short walk into the town even though it felt you were in the countryside. They had a good supply of outdoor toys to use. Would highly recommend a stay to La Tannerie and this would not be our only stay here. Nearby activities There was so much to see and do within 30 mins drive from La Tannerie, lovely villages and towns with busy markets. Lakes with beaches and activities. Jenny and Ken were the perfect hosts. The gite where we stayed was amazing. Very clean, very comfortable and absolutely nothing was missing. A home away from home. Jenny was always there for us if we needed anything, any recommendations of where to visit or eat, very attentive. We will always remember our trip very fondly and would highly recommend a visit to this part of France to everyone and of course to stay in one of Jenny and Ken's gites which are ideal for all types of travellers, for adventurers, for people touring the area or just relaxing, for couples, groups and families. 100% recommendable for everyone. We really hope we can come back one day to enjoy Chalais and the lovely surrounding villages and have a glass of wine with Jenny and Ken. .... thank you for everything. From the ease of booking through to the end of the stay, communication was excellent. We took our 19- and 22-year-old off-spring and are always mindful of the need to have good Wi-Fi plus room to escape and relax. Our Gite offered us a clean, spacious and well-equipped base from which to explore the region. The pool was clean, well maintained and a good size. We were welcomed by a fridge stocked with essentials and bath and pool towels were supplied too. Jenny and Ken went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as hassle-free and comfortable as they could make it and were certainly the most convivial of hosts. Nothing was too much trouble, and we are most grateful for them going above and beyond in our time of need. La Tannerie offers the rustic charm of rural France whilst allowing easy access to the town and amenities. Thoroughly recommend. Rooms: 5/5Service: 5/5Location: 5/5 Visited in September 2022
It was fantastic to be back at La Tannerie again and Jenny and Ken are lovely hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. Our gite was perfectly equipped and clean and comfortable and all the other amenities like the pool were top notch. There is so much to see and do in the local area and we loved exploring some new restaurants as well as revisiting our old haunts. It’s safe to say we will be returning and can’t wait to be back there again. Thank you J&K for a great holiday and making us feel so welcome.
