This is a fantastic Villa, extremely well equipped and appointed. We spent many days next to the pool admiring the idyllic view surrounded by complete tranquillity, with nothing but the sound of nature (and the kids) disturbing the peace. The village at the bottom of the hill has everything you need, with several excellent bakeries (sorry), a very good local supermarket with a butchers counter and also a nearby large pharmacy, if required. When it was too hot we retreated to the rear terrace, which offered fantastic views of the valley from partial shade. Plenty of space and lovely landscaped grounds, we will be back!
We had a wonderful week’s stay at the Villa in Cessanon! The home had three very spacious and comfortable bedrooms, a great living area, and a very well equipped kitchen that allowed us to do some fun cooking with local foods. Outside the home was a beautiful pool with plenty of area to sit in both sun and the shade. We were hoping for a quiet place and this fit the bill being up on top of a hill overlooking the town. The town of Cessanon was just 1/2 mile to walk into and had a couple of restaurants including an exceptional gourmet restaurant in the Restaurant de l’Orb, along wi5 a couple of other places to eat as well as a fantastic local patisserie and cheese shop and charcuterie. From our villa we traveled easily to many wonderful towns that were within and hour of us throughout the Languedoc region. Was a perfect week!
Dealing with the owner was a pleasure from first enquiry to return of deposit. All mails responded to in excellent time. The villa is amazing, the online photos do not due it justice. Very spacious and well equipped. The pool area is excellent with a nice summer kitchen area, not overlooked at all.
This is a lovely villa and very well-equipped. The kitchen has loads of gadgets, pots and pans etc and if anything there is not enough cupboard space for storing groceries ( but there are two fridge-freezers). The TV has the full list of British freeview channels, and there is a small library of DVDs to watch, as well as a lot of local maps/guidebooks. The pool area is a bit remote from the house and not ideal if you want to pop in and out of the house, although there is a fridge and BBQ area adjacent to the pool. The view from the pool area is truly stunning. There is a patio and outside eating area outside the lounge patio doors, again with a great view of the valley. The driveway approach to the villa is up a bendy road, and the walk to the village is about 10 mins downhill, 15 mins uphill on the way back. There are three eating options in the village, two mid priced restaurants (one a bit swankier than the other) and the local (busy) bar which does cheap and cheerful meals in the summer. Very large Carrefour about 8 miles away and there is a Carrefour express in the village which carries a good range and has a butchery counter, as well as a local bakery/patisserie. The roads into Cessenon from west and east are in very good condition, they must have been resurfaced when the Tour de France came through here in 2016! And there are lots and lots of vineyards with direct sales/tasting options around the area.
Spacious villa, great pool with a view over vineyards and hills Stroll down to the village for the baker, butcher, bar, restaurants and the river.Local wine good and great value
We had a wonderful stay at Les Hautes Terres. It’s a lovely house, really well equipped, and a great pool and terrace, with views over the valley. The local villages, domaines, and restaurants were interesting and welcoming. There’s not many places that we lost as a place to return to - but this is definite one of them.
