We had a glorious family holiday at this idyllic house. The hosts could not have been kinder, even getting a bit of shopping in for us when we arrived late on a Sunday. The donkeys down the lane were enjoyed by the children and adults alike! The house is immaculate and very well equipped. Lovely comfy beds. The garden and surroundings are so beautiful and pool area has a wonderful view. The surrounding area is full of great places to visit- we’ve never explored this area before but felt it had all the beauty of Provence with a fraction of the tourists. The nearby villages of Puycelsi and Castelnaud were breathtaking- and so friendly! Can’t recommend it all highly enough!
Very happy to return to La Grange with Clive and Barbara. They are wonderful hosts and the gite is such a peaceful and beautiful place to re-charge. We played lots of tennis at the local courts and enjoyed hiring bikes and kayaks at Saint Antonin. The walking in this area is also beautiful and well-marked. As usual, the gite was well-equipped and very comfortable. We hope to be back soon!
Not wanting to be defeated by not recognising all the bird songs, I decided to get an app on my phone this year which would help identify them (Merlin app) 42 species! Another fabulous holiday here and I must admit that I prefer the cooler temperature in June. We have had a mixed selection of weather this time with some really interesting thunderstorms at night in the first week. Since arriving on 17 June we’ve: drunk the lovely local wine, celebrated our anniversary, enjoyed swimming in the pool, been surrounded by wildlife (lizards, checkered beetles, dragonflies, baby frogs, brown bush grasshoppers, praying mantis, darner bugs, small copper butterflies, swallowtail butterflies, Cleopatra butterflies, spongey moth caterpillars, deer and many birds!), had loads of BBQs, managed to well and truly relax, visited Castelnau de Montmiral, Puycelsi, Gaillac, Albi, Bruniquel, St Antonin Noble Val and Penne. Kevin has enjoyed his early morning bike rides and by the end of our 3 weeks here he will have done 300 miles! Needless to say we’ve had a great time and will undoubtedly be sad to leave (as ever!) Thanks Barbara & Clive for yet another fantastic holiday! Hoping to be back next year for some more relaxation!
We’ve had the most wonderful two weeks at La Grange. Barbara and Clive are the most generous, kind, knowledgeable hosts. We felt very private here but also felt so pleased to have Barbara and Clive nearby. The location is so completely peaceful and beautiful and sitting on the terrace listening to the amazing diversity of wildlife with a coffee or glass of wine has been a joy! We love Puycelsi and Castelnau de Montmiral - such beautiful, peaceful villages and had a wonderful day trip to Cordes-sur-Ciel and Albi where we had a great meal at Le Clos, recommended by Barbara and Clive. We really enjoyed walking in the woods and around the fantastic garden and the children loved feeding the donkeys! We spotted some exciting animals and we and the children were so excited to see toads, lizards and so many beautiful insects and birds. The pool is so perfect for the whole family with the lovely steps and the great shallow end for the little ones - their swimming is coming on so much since being here. Thank you Barbara and Clive, we feel so restored after being here for a couple of weeks in this wonderfully comfortable gite in the most glorious setting. We would so love to come back! PS - The family also had a great time at the Sunday market in St Antonin Noble Val.
You expect all the gites you look for to be advertised as being perfect, this one really is; and more besides. A very comfortable and well equipped home from home overlooking a truly beautiful landscape of forestry and farmland. La Grange is set in a tranquil rural setting with lots to see and do in the nearby areas. Whatever plans you make before staying here don''''t be surprised if you leave a lot undone, this gite is so lovely you don''''t want to leave. Many thanks to the owners for their warm welcome and helpful information on the area.
We couldn't believe our luck when arriving at La Grange. We have stayed in quite a few holiday homes in France, but none that compares to this property. There was plenty of space both inside and out The house and pool were perfect for our needs and set in the most stunning of settings. Beautiful unspoilt countryside in every direction and so peaceful The Owners were extremely helpful. We loved our holiday, shops are just a short drive away but you can stock up on fresh produce every few days. There is so much to see and do, we wished that we had booked for two weeks and will definitely do so next time. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to have a wonderful holiday, it was worth all the Covid 19 paperwork, tests etc
