After winning the prestigious "Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Award. 2024" for Carmarthenshire Stangwrach Cottages were put forward to the "South West Wales award 2024/2025" which they are very proud to have won. Getting this far has been an amazing achievement for this small family business.
5* Ash Tree Cottage is set within the Carmarthenshire Countryside with ease of access to coast, situated just outside the small village of Llanfynydd. Ash Tree Cottage has 4 bedrooms, Wetroom, and family bathroom, plus a playroom. The kitchen and dining room are all open plan. Outside you have a covered walkway back and front with seating, a large decking and to the rear a wooded area that backs onto a wild meadow. We have a pub in the village that does amazing food, there are other eateries all within a 7 mile radius.
You have the market town of Llandeilo 7 miles away with it Dinefwr Park and Castle and the larger town of Carmarthen 11 miles away. The nearest beach is Llansteffan beach and castle, then you have Laugharne, Pendine, Saundersfoot, Tenby and Pembrokeshire, all wonderful places to visit. If you are into gardens and horticulture then Aberglasney a garden lost in time is a must and so to the National Botanical Gardens. If you are looking for more adventure there you have lots of other things to do Coasteering, and Mountain Biking to name but a few. We also have a seasonal local petting farm.
Parking is to the front of the property, accessible vehicles can reverse to the offloading area which is hard standing to unload as the rest of the drive is gravel. You access through double patio doors into the living, kitchen and dinning room, laminate flooring throughout with underfloor heating. This large airy room has a vaulted sealing with exposed beam and is light and spacious with views out on every side. A large warm cozy rug is in front of the two sofas but can be removed if there are less able amongst the party. There are two wing backed chairs ideal again if you need a compy supportive chair with arms. There is a large flat screen TV on the wall. A bookshelf with books to borrow during your stay. The dinning table seats 8 but can be extended to accommodate more room for a wheelchair, table raisers are also available to vary the hight. The kitchen is fully fitted with everything you will need for your stay. A door leads off the living room to a central hallway leading to the bedrooms and bathroom, playroom and utility.
Ash Tree Cottage has been fitted with all the necessary alarms to protect you during your stay and thumb locks on the doors.
Bathrooms
1 bathroom with shower attachment over the bath, WC with pedestal sink. A small stool is also in this bathroom. Situated opposite the double room.
1 Wetroom with hight adjustable shower, high disabled toilet and sink without pedestal. Grab rails to the toilet sink and shower.
A Shower chair/Commode with wheels is available if needed this blue chair also goes over the toilet.
Bedrooms
• Bedroom 1 Double bed with draws and wardrobe, mirror above the bed, bedside table with reading lights.
• Bedroom 2 Kingsize bed wrought iron, bedside tables with lamps, wardrobe and chest of draws. (Portable fan on top of wardrobe)
• Bedroom 3 Single Profiling Bed. This bed has back and knee raiser and also elevates and has padded side rails. This bed can be used as a normal bed with electric removed and side rails dropped down. This single room has a low wardrobe with integrated draws a low mirror .
• Bedroom 4 Bunk beds and a single bed. Slimline wardrobe and a chest of draws. Large window looking out to the wooded area. This is to the rear oppersit the King bedroom.
• Adaptable Playroom - this room has a small Tv with DVD player and toys for children, board games, soft toys, indoor hoop, indoor tunnel, skittles and drafts. (This room can be adapted into a bedroom by prior arrangement, by hireling a 2nd profiling bed, extra cost and is still restricted to 8 guests ) please speak to us about this.
A travel cot can be provided (please provide your own linen)
Childs high chair available please let us know before you arrive.
Kitchen.
Fully fitted with oven, hob, extractor fan, dishwasher, microwave, and fridge. (freezer room is outside) Large cupboard to store your grocery delivery.
Utility Room
Automatic front-loading washing machine, clothes dryer, iron, ironing board & cleaning implements. ( this room is ideal for drying those muddy boots overnight as it also houses the Oil boiler so remains warm when door is closed.
Outside
A Large decked area surounds the property, there are benches, table and chairs for outside dinning, also a wooded area with bluebells and daffodils, as you walk continue around the back of the property there is a small ramped slope into the meadow where the children swings are, there is a nest swing and a fully supported children’s teenage swing seat and an interchangeable adult seat with harness, a netball post and seating is also in this area. The field is a great place for outdoor games which are provided.
Towels are NOT provided.
