Overview
Description
The villa is within walking distance of the medieval hilltop village of Callas with its shops, weekly market, bar and restaurants. This elevated, south facing, Provencal style villa, set within 1.2 acres of olive and fruit trees, sleeps 8 and is ideal for families wishing to enjoy the beaches of the Cote D'Azur or the host of activities available in the Gorges du Verdon area. The house would equally suit a couple or group of friends, seeking the peace and quiet of rural Provence and excellent food and wine. Please note that, as is very common in this area, the drive is very steep.
During warm weather, enjoy the large, secure, private pool and the breath-taking views from its terrace. The pool house has a fridge for refreshments, toilet and washbasin. Please note, the pool is situated above the house, accessed by several steep and slightly uneven steps, however, its position enhances the views and offers total privacy and is well worth the climb!
There is a large terrace right outside the lounge area where you can dine outside, enjoy a barbecue under the pergola or take an aperitif under the olive trees. The large table seats 8 people.
The lounge/dining room is light and airy in the summer and opens out onto the terrace and garden. In the cooler months, the house is cosy and warm with a wood burning fire.
The kitchen is well equipped and opens to the back of the house. There is a large fridge freezer and pantry.
There are 4 bedrooms in total.
Three bedrooms are located on the ground floor, each one with double doors opening out onto the south facing terrace. There are 2 double bedrooms, one has a double bed, the other is a twin plus a bunk-bed room, along with the bathroom with bath and shower plus a downstairs toilet.
The 1st floor master bedroom has a king size bed and an en-suite bathroom with separate bath and shower. It also has a roof terrace where you can enjoy fresh croissants for breakfast whilst taking in the stunning views of the countryside and the village or take an aperitif in the evening, watch the sunset reflect red on the Gorges de Pennafort and admire the floodlit village church.
There is a downstairs bathroom with bath and shower, and also a separate toilet.

Leave ReviewA very relaxing week
By Andy Alison and Ellie on 21-Sep-2024Thank you - we have enjoyed a very relaxing week here at the villa. Set in a beautiful location. The pool has been well used and the elevated views of the village and the mountains beyond are stunning. The villa is very well equipped and homely. We have also enjoyed many a game of boules! We hope to visit again.
Very comfortable stay
By Virginia, Gregory and family on 17-Aug-2024We have been very comfortable here but managed to tear ourselves away for excursions to Monaco, Nice, Avignon and Aix. Also beach trips including St Maxime and St Tropez. by boat. We also drove up to the Gorges and enjoyed the viewpoints. We ate out in Callas and Bargemon. Good sharing pizzas for vegetarians
We had a great time
By Parry Family on 06-Jul-2024We've had a great time here both with resting and playing at the pool but also as a base for visiting places from Monaco by train from Les Arcs Draguignan, to Antibes (lovely), St Maxine to St Tropez by ferry, the beach near Frejus and of course Callas itself. Great views of the village from the pool area and upstairs. Visited the local restaurants a couple of times for a nice supper. All very nice with the villa
Utterly Charming
By Kevin C on 22-Jun-2024Utterly charming property with wonderful views across the landscape. The property has a tasteful appearance and matched by comfortable furnishings and very well appointed. The swimming pool terrace is a superb elevated location from which to appreciate the beautiful scenery of the surrounding villages. The rooms are all a good size as are the unspoilt and private gardens, which are well stocked and quite attractive. We had a superb vacation with friends and we would certainly return again in the future. The local villages are blessed with an array of shops selling good quality local produce, as well as a selection of restaurants, bars, café s etc and we would recommend some of the local vineyards for excellent Rose du Provence wines. Highly recommended.
Great location
By Jules H on 29-Jul-2023We stayed for one week and we cannot wait to go again. When we arrived we were surprised how spacious and homely the villa was and it has amazing views. It is wonderfully located about 5- 10 minutes walk from the centre of Callas which is a typical Provençal village. We really enjoyed walking there every morning to buys our bread and croissants for breakfast. There are also some very good restaurants in Callas. The pool is lovely and we even swam every day in May. We ate in the garden and it is wonderfully quiet and tranquil. The region is full of breathtaking views and there is loads to see and do. We went to the Gorge du Verdon (Europe's Grand Canyon) and the beach at Saint Raphael and Juan les Pins. We had a really brill holiday and hope to return.
The Perfect Break
By Campbell family on 17-Jun-2023The Perfect Break. Lovely, house, village and people with plenty to do! The house was fantastic, in a perfect location to enjoy day trips and visit other villages. Callas is beautiful with lovely cafes and places to eat. Will be sad to go but will be back very soon! Thank you
