Perfect really! Really well equipped pretty little cottage with everything you need and want. Great views over Boscastle. Parking. BBQ. Really loved watching the Bats whizz up and down the lane in the evening, or sitting in the bath watching it get dark and the village lights coming on. Really feels like you’ve gone back in time it’s so relaxing and peaceful. Only a 10 minute lovely walk down to the village and harbour. Had some lovely walks on the coastal path, watching the sunset from harbour and finding Minster Church. Great base also for Tintagel, and The Camel Trail for a scenic bike ride. Will be back as just didn’t have enough time to see and do everything we would have liked, you can totally relax but also so many things to discover! Thankyou!
We’ve been visiting Boscastle regularly for many years, staying in various self-catering properties before finding this lovely cottage in 2016 where we’ve stayed ever since (this was our tenth stay!). We stayed for two weeks over Christmas and truly love the cottage. Carole and Andy are supreme hosts and dealing directly with them makes the whole booking process incredibly easy. The cottage is comfortable, wonderfully warm in winter, well equipped and fantastically situated and the housekeeping team always ensure it is sparkling clean ready for arrival. Staying in this cottage is a joy and we can’t wait to return again and again.
We loved our stay here and wish it had been longer. Booking was easy – Carole was helpful and quick to reply to messages. The cottage was spotlessly clean on our arrival with welcome treats waiting for us. Boscastle has always been one of our favourite places to visit so it was wonderful to be able to stroll down to the harbour or out to Willapark lookout. There were days when we didn’t use the car at all. With such easy access to the coast path and various other places we love to visit, the location was perfect. Thank you for a lovely stay, we very much hope we can return next year.
We stayed at the cottage for a week and we loved it. We’ve often been disappointed with holiday rentals but not this time. The cottage is in a lovely location with views over the village. It was spotlessly clean on arrival and there was a welcome pack awaiting us consisting of some local cider, biscuits etc. It was very well equipped and the furnishings weren’t tatty or well used as they sometimes can be! I would thoroughly recommend this place.
This is a wonderful cottage. It’s cosy, clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is ideally situated in the picturesque village of Boscastle with access to many local walks and just 5 minutes from the nearest access point to the South West Coast Path. Our visit in May was also enhanced by the amazing sight of bluebells in Minster Wood and along Valency Valley – just as depicted in the lovely picture hanging on the wall of the cottage living room. We can’t wait to return.
Melbourne Cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Boscastle. It’s at the end of Potters Lane and enjoys a stunning view of the hills on one side and is walking distance from the harbour and the visitor centre to the other. We stayed there for a week, which was always going to be too little. This location is perfect for making day trips to, Crackington Haven, Tintagel, Port Issac, Bude, The Eden Project, and a lot more. There are also plenty of walks from the cottage which should not be missed. Boscastle Pottery is one of a kind and don’t miss Roger, showing you how he ‘grows trees on a pot’. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated. and is themed with Boscastle’s attractions. Andy and Carole have taken great care in thinking of the necessities and comfort of the daily life of guests from all aspects. The cottage is well equipped and the bedrooms are both cosy and comfortable. We felt it was like going from one home to another. If the weather is not good outside, you and your family can enjoy lots of games and puzzles. We loved our stay at this stunning cottage.
