Everything you’d expect to find in the kitchen is there – electric oven and hob, fridge with icebox, microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetiere – and perhaps some things extra, including tea and coffee so you can make a hot drink when you arrive, as well as a Cornish cream tea.
You’ll find a kitchen starter pack of tea towel, oven gloves, washing-up liquid, sponge, and J-cloth if you want to cook; although who wants to cook on holiday when there are so many great cafes and restaurants within an easy drive? During the summer, you'll have access to additional freezer space in the Information Room, should you need it. This is also where you'll find a washing machine and tumble dryer.
RELAXING IN THE SUN
Outside the cottage, there's a lawned area with your own picnic table and parasol. There’s a BBQ available during your stay and, as the sun sinks into the valley, you can sit with a glass of wine and watch the buzzards circling over the meadow or try your hand at a game on the nearby boules court.

Leave ReviewWould certainly recommend Rivermead
By Chambers on 20-Sep-2024We booked Oaktree Cottage at Rivermead as we needed a level place i.e. no stairs, and it was handy for most driveable places in Cornwall. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay both at Rivermead and in Cornwall. We would certainly recommend Rivermead to friends back in New Zealand. By the way, the scones, jam, clotted cream etc were a lovely surprise. Thank you.
A relaxing holiday
By Fairweather on 10-Aug-2024Rivermead looked like a relaxing holiday and that was just what we were looking for. We liked that we were made to feel welcome, the cottage was very clean and comfortable and our stay was very relaxing. Everything was perfect. Please add The Bell Lane Fryer (fish & chips) in Bodmin to your recommendations in the Welcome Folder. The food was good and the girls serving were very polite and helpful. Very good menu.
Gorgeous surroundings
By Le B on 31-May-2024We liked the barn and its gorgeous surroundings, and all the facilities turned out to be excellent.
