Kindly note: we are trialling dynamic pricing in 2025 so for the most accurate price for the stay you'd like, please visit our website.

THE COTTAGE
Kingfisher Cottage is a pretty, spacious, one-bedroom cottage for the ideal get-away-from-it all break. It has a spacious living/dining room, a double bedroom, kitchen, and shower room so it's perfect whether you’re coming on your own or as a couple. Situated on the first floor at the western end of our 300-year-old, Cornish stone barn conversion the cottage is all on one level. Kingfisher has its own parking space, entrance and porch area which is wonderful for coats, boots, bags, and brollies.

ENTRANCE
When you first come into Kingfisher, there’s an entrance hallway with coat hooks, with the kitchen at one end and the shower room at the other.

COOK IN COMFORT
The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need on a self-catering holiday and some things you’d never even thought about! All the things you’d expect are there – electric oven and hob, fridge with icebox, microwave, toaster, cafetiere – but also some things you didn’t, like tea and coffee for a drink on arrival and a Cornish cream tea.

There’s plenty of crockery, glassware, cutlery, and utensils if you really want to cook during your holiday, but don’t miss the Welcome Folder with lots of suggestions for places to eat out. We can provide you with a slow cooker and a food processor if you want them. You’ll also find a kitchen starter pack with washing-up liquid, sponge, J-cloth, tea-towel and oven gloves. If you need more freezer space, there’s an extra freezer in the Information Room for your use during the summer months. If you need laundry facilities, the Information Room is also where you'll find a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Kingfisher Cottage has a pretty, south-facing living room with a comfy sofa and armchair and a table and two chairs for dining. There’s free BT broadband and a TV with Freeview and DVD.

GET A GREAT NIGHT'S SLEEP
The bedroom is reached through the living room and faces south towards the River Fowey, which you can see from the cottage at certain times of the year. There’s a comfortable double bed with high quality, coordinating bed linen, hanging space, dressing table and hairdryer. The shower room has a power shower, basin, toilet, and vanity unit. Shower room towels and a bathmat are provided for you.

RELAX IN THE SUN
Outside Kingfisher Cottage is a lawned garden area where there’s a picnic bench, parasol, and a BBQ for whiling away the summer evenings watching the sunset. Guests staying in Kingfisher Cottage frequently see the buzzards circling over the woods and sometimes spot the local herd of red deer venturing out of the woods at the top of the paddock.

If your selected date isn't available in Kingfisher Cottage, why not have a look at Oaktree Cottage, our other one bedroom cottage, or one of our larger properties? We have five characterful holiday cottages and two luxurious lodges to rent, set in over 17 acres of beautiful Cornish countryside along our private stretch of the River Fowey, with a lake, woodland, and meadows to explore.

Situated halfway between Bodmin and Liskeard, Rivermead’s pet-free holiday cottages in Cornwall are the perfect base for couples’ breaks and relaxing family holidays. To find out more, please visit our website https://rivermeadcottages.co.uk/

Beautiful location

By Braddock on 24-Sep-2024

We booked Kingfisher Cottage as the pictures and description looked inviting. It's a beautiful location and grounds; so peaceful. We enjoyed the welcome cream tea pack and bought lots more scones to enjoy more cream and jam during our stay. Sadly, we had to leave the lovely bag as we were travelling for several weeks and only had small suitcases. We greatly enjoyed our visit.

Beautiful cottage

By Burgess on 19-May-2024

We liked everything about our stay. A beautiful cottage in the most beautiful setting. A little piece of heaven away from the usual hum drum of life. Next time, please make the time go slower so it lasts longer!

Clean and comfortable

By Gibson on 13-Oct-2023

We enjoyed our first visit very much and knew that we wanted to return. The cottage is clean and comfortable. Everything we needed in a holiday home. The grounds are very well maintained. You both are super friendly. Great welcome pack. What could you do better? Nothing - everything's perfect.

Appreciated the little touches

By James on 28-Jul-2023

Why did we book Rivermead? The personal contacts, location, personal recommendations. What do you do well? Appreciated the little touches (welcome pack), cleanliness and the personal welcome.
