Description

Duck cottage is a truly unique rental property in Beadnell. We have check in from 10 am, with check out by 6 pm, allowing you to enjoy every day you have there. Most other properties are 4.00pm check in, and 10.am check out, losing out on most of the first day, and having to prepare the night before to check out early. We prepare the cottage ourselves to ensure that there is a high standard of cleanliness. You will be welcomed with a bottle of wine or Prosecco, and some biscuits and snacks.

Just a pebble's throw from the golden sands at Beadnell Bay, (as can be seen in the aerial photograph above), is this single-storey cottage. Perfectly positioned for exploring Northumberland's Heritage coastline, this seaside bolthole is well-appointed for a holiday with the family. The open-plan living room boasts a sleek, wooden floor sweeping through the interior, enhanced by the attractive woodburner adding a warm glow to the room. Sit and relax on the plush, leather corner sofa and watch the world go by. Catch glimpses of eager holiday makers heading towards the beach with their swimming gear. Prepare a hearty breakfast, picnic lunches and tasty evening meals in the kitchen; you have everything you need within a stylish layout!

The bedrooms are just off the hall comprising a double, a family room and a single; each served by the modern shower room. During the summer months, the south-west facing veranda is ideal for lounging away your afternoons in the sun with a glass of wine and a good book. Easy access to the bay can be gained using a dune path, ensuring safe arrival to the beautiful white sand beach of Beadnell Bay, approx 2 mins away. A host of activities can be enjoyed at Beadnell Bay, including surfing, paddle boarding, coasteering and cycling. Also within walking distance are two pubs serving food and local ales, along with two café/bistros. Find an array of shops, a supermarket and restaurants at nearby Seahouses, a popular village offering boat trips from the harbour to the National Trust's Farne Islands.Spot puffins and seals; each autumn hundreds of seal pups are born here!Dunstanburgh Castle is also close by in Craster, with walking, wildlife watching and simply absorbing views of amazing stretches of coastline.Follow the trail along the Craster to Low Newton coastal walk, pass the mighty ruins of the castle and enjoy the long sweep of Embleton Sands. A charming getaway in a beautiful part of Northumberland.
New in 2021, will be the addition of a gate to the front of the property and secure fencing to the rear side of the property giving a good level of security for both children and dogs.
There will also be a lockable bicycle shed to the left hand side of the cottage, as the garage is not available to guests.
Pets are welcome, but we charge a £10 surcharge for your first dog and £5 for your second dog.
We look forward to welcoming you to 2 Duck cottage.

Duck Cottage… A Great location and very well equipped

By Steve M on 31-Aug-2024

Another relaxing stay here and everything as usual in perfect working order including a superb new bathroom with excellent shower and lovely tiling. Nice proper size tv. If the evenings were chilly the wood burning stove was a real cosy addition to the ambience. Plenty of room and all very well finished and furnished. Lovely walks from the door and lots of local attractions like Alnwick Castle, Chillingham wild cattle, Cragside, Farne islands boat trips , great fish and chips. All in all a very comfortable cottage for our late summer break. Thanks again👍👏👏👏

Brilliant Cottage in Beadnell

By Gemma on 12-Aug-2024

Brilliant well appointed Cottage in Beadnell. Really everything you need for a stay away from home -from blankets and dog bowls to kitchen equipment, books and games. Lovely welcome basket too. The decking is the perfect spot for relaxing and gets the sun most of the day. The beds and sofa were really comfy. Ideal location for walking to the bay with paddle boards etc. The extended check in/out times were also really appreciated! Definitely made everything much more relaxing. Enclosed garden was great for our sociable dog. Great Communication prior to and during our stay Really enjoyed our week at Duck Cottage.

Super stay

Our family spent a lovely week in duck cottage, we mainly spent our time at the beautiful beach, it was so close. Although it was very busy we would walk along to where it was a little quieter. As it got dark we would sit and watch the bats zooming around. Went to the landings for a meal also Castor inn both good. Forgot my tea bags but found a small shop, I also forgot a hairdryer! A relaxing time was had. 😊
