The Old Shippon is a stunning, airy, three-bedroom barn conversion situated in Barbon, near Kirkby Lonsdale - described by the Sunday Times as "the sweetest of sweet spots" between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lakeland fells.
Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with shower, as well as a cloakroom for guests, there is underfloor heating throughout downstairs and the building has been tastefully renovated to produce a wonderfully light and spacious feel whilst retaining many of the original features of the original 18th century barn and shippon (milking parlour.) There are solid wood floors throughout and many of the original beams remain helping to retain a rustic feel.
There is private parking available for 2 vehicles and the property is only a short walk from the excellent Barbon Inn where you'll find Lorna, Dave and Chaos (their dog) serving freshly-cooked food in a traditional 17th century coaching inn.
You'll find the Old Shippon has beautiful views, dark skies and all the essentials you might require for a peaceful and refreshing holiday that allows you to experience some of the best-loved landscapes in the country and is only 15 minutes from the M6. We welcome one pet per stay, only asking that you ensure it doesn't cause upset to the neighbouring farms & residents.
