We spent a wonderful Christmas at a Millhouse Cottage, situated within an attractive small group of cottages. Spacious, spotlessly clean with a wonderful view from the front of the house. Quick to walk/drive to some of Northumberland's glorious beaches, Nice Deli and good butcher in Bambrugh snd a couple of pubs/ restaurants. Co-op a short drive but larger supermarkets further afield in Berwick or Alnwick, After days out it was lovely to come back to log fires and every comfort needed. When we had a minor issue with a light switch and TV remote control, Stuart very swiftly appeared to fix for us. A very pleasant host.
Overall excellent holiday. Millhouse cottage has querky layout but has everything you require when you go away. Rural location so nothing around it as far as shops etc but we knew that. Only 3 mile drive to local co-op, pubs etc with 25 minute drive to larger supermarkets in either Alnwick or Berwick. The cottage gives you tranquility whilst being 5 minutes from the fabulous beaches overlooked by Bamburgh Castle. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Spacious, comfortable, well equipped, impressive sea view from bedroom, private garden, beautiful surroundings.
This holiday was absolutely perfect. The accommodation was immaculate. Sarah, the owner was in contact just before the holiday, and guided us on the day by phone. We felt confident that she was there for us. The cottage was perfect…peaceful and welcoming. Fantastic week.
We had a wonderful week at the house with our children. Delicious cake on arrival which we ate in the beautiful garden. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. We felt so at home and comfortable. Lots to do in easy reach including Bamburgh beach and holy island. A very happy and memorable holiday enjoyed by us all. I can thoroughly recommend the house, you can’t be disappointed.
Millhouse Cottage was perfect for us on all counts. The ground floor living area included a spacious and very well equipped kitchen & utility room, comfortable lounge and dining room was exceptional. There was also a good-sized bathroom. As well as the front bedroom the lounge afforded a great view across the estuary. The three bedrooms were pristine and of a high-level hotel standard. Storage facilities were also generous. In line with the bedroom standards the ensuite facilities were excellent. An armchair in place at each of the windows set in two small alcoves in the front bedroom facing the estuary was a real draw. In addition to the above Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle, Seahouses and the Farne Islands were short trips away, The Ginger cake was great too.
