Description
Le Fournil and La Grange (P219345) are a traditional stone ‘longère’ style farmhouse and its gîte, situated in a small hamlet just beyond the village of Azay le Ferron, in the heart of the French countryside. The area is on the edge of the Brenne national park, popular with birdwatchers and nature lovers.
The beautiful Loire Valley is famous throughout the world for it’s many opulent Châteaux and magnificent gardens. With many nearby activities such as golf, cycling and watersports, there is something for everyone.
La Grange is a stone barn, converted a few years ago. It retains many original features such as exposed stone walls, and a huge window where the barn doors once stood giving the house a wonderfully light and spacious feel. Accommodation consists of a salon with large stone fireplace, comfy sofas and an oval dining table to easily seat eight people. There is a flat-screen TV, DVD and WiFi.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the usual domestic appliances, and there is a utility room with washing machine and dryer. There is a downstairs double bedroom and ensuite bathroom suitable for wheelchair users. Upstairs are 3 further bedrooms; a double and 2 twins and 2 further bathrooms. Baby equipment such as cot, highchair and stairgates are also provided.
The large garden overlooks open farmland, and contains apple, pear and walnut trees.
Each house has a paved seating area with table and chairs and barbeque.
There is a children’s play apparatus in front of each house, and a table tennis table, boules set, badminton set and a sandpit which can be shared.
The 10 x 5 metre swimming pool, shared between the two houses, has a large paved surround for sunbathing.
It is fully fenced to comply with current French safety regulations.
The pool is heated between the 1st May and 30th September.
