Description
Urlay Nook is the only 5 star Gold Award holiday cottage in Askrigg, and one of only a handful in The Dales sleeping 4 in space and comfort with two bathrooms. It is prettily yet conveniently situated on the edge of the village, next to Askrigg Beck. The views from the south facing rear garden are onto open fields, yet is still only a couple of minutes’ walk from the centre of the village with its shops, pubs, restaurants and church.This is a cottage filled with light-it has 20 windows and 4 outside doors! Original features abound throughout the cottage, with its thick stone walls, beams, bread oven, and window seats. The cottage is co-ordinated throughout and decorated with paints from Farrow and Ball and The Little Greene Paint Company. The mixture of new and antique furniture ensures the true cottage atmosphere whilst ensuring that you have all of the modern comforts that you have worked hard for and deserve.
This is a luxurious and comfortable cottage in a fantastic location, equipped to an extremely high standard to ensure a warm welcome and fabulous holiday, and this is confirmed by the accolade of the 5 star Gold Award grading by VisitBritain.

By Jon on 24-Nov-2024We are struggling to find anything negative to say. The cottage was warm and welcoming when we arrived after a stressful couple of weeks. It was equipped with everything we needed and really anything we would want. The weather was a bonus - we enjoyed drinking coffees in the garden in late October!

Fantastic Cottage
By Paul on 26-Sep-2024This was our third stay at Urlay Nook after a break of a few years and having stayed at over 40 different holiday cottages in the UK I can honestly say this cottage is the cleanest and best equipped out of all of them with absolutely everything you could wish for. The cottage is ideally situated with 3 pubs serving food within the village and numerous walks straight from the cottage or within a short drive . I would recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.
Delightful cottage
By Gill on 22-Sep-2024Our fifth year in this lovely comfortable well equipped cottage in an ideal location in the village of Askrigg. Everything you would need in the cottage with a delightful kitchen and such a spacious cottage. Excellent meals at the Kings Arms and Middle House and a well stocked village shop. The Bakewell coffee shop is a delight with a fabulous choice of cakes and food. Plenty of walks from the cottage and no need to drive far. Beautifully kept garden to relax in after your day out.
