Description
Minnie’s Cottage is a special and romantic cottage for couples with stunning views across Wensleydale to the flat-topped hill of Addleborough and the Roman Road above Bainbridge. There is a cosy and quaint living room with a fabulous original inglenook fireplace, king-sized bedroom, separate dressing room and a private walled garden.Minnie’s is deservedly a Grade 2 listed cottage, built in 1834 and still has many of its original features. These include the beamed ceilings, original plank doors and snecks (the local name for door latches), deep set windows and stone shelves. It is in a lovely location next to the church in the centre of Askrigg, hidden away yet only a couple of minutes’ walk to the centre of the village and the shops, pubs, coffee shops and restaurants. Askrigg is one of those villages where you truly can park the car and throw away the keys for a few days should you so wish. You have all that the Yorkshire Dales National Park has to offer on your doorstep or a short drive away.
Minnie’s Cottage is quaint and quirky and has its own very special atmosphere-this is a cottage that definitely captures the hearts of the people who stay here.

By Dave and Margaret on 05-Nov-2024A twice yearly visit to Minnie's has become a necessity to relax and get away from busy city life. It provides the right combination of quality accommodation local to all amenities and walks from the front door in every direction. We had a lovely week walking to our favourite places and then relaxing back at the cottage or dining out in one of Askrigg s local pub/restaurant s.. Next year seems too far away. A perfect holiday
By James on 04-Jun-2024This was our second stay at Minnie’s cottage. Once again it was perfect. Ken and Sue have set up a great app with every single piece of information you could need for the cottage. From how to use the oven to the remote controls for the tv. It was once again spotlessly clean. The kitchen has everything you need to self cater fully. As a keen cook I found this a refreshing change. Everything has been considered. Ken gave us some good local information on places to go for dinner and evenings. And as before was very welcoming. Thank you for a lovely holiday. The best self cater accommodation I’ve stayed in by far.

By Gerry on 01-Jan-2024The cottage was everything we hoped for and more. There was nothing that hadn't been thought of. Attention to detail was second to none and the Christmassy touches all around the cottage were just beautiful and much appreciated.
