We know all too well from our own experiences that some "Disabled Friendly" or "Wheelchair Accessible" holiday homes are a far cry from what you might expect...

With this in mind we've done our utmost to make The Moat House the perfect place with all the features and facilities that are essential to you. The quintessential location for you to take that well deserved holiday or short break.

We've turned an historic Georgian period building, in an interesting location, into a unique, spacious holiday home with superlative facilities whilst maintaining a luxurious 'look and feel'. Using bright and daring colours in a sympathetic way, which works with the architectural features of the house, we think that we've created a space that is exhilarating, functional, relaxing and totally "non-clinical".

Designed and built with disability in mind, whether you have reduced mobility, have difficulty getting managing stairs, need assistance with everyday tasks, are a wheelchair user or have complex care needs - The Moat House is uniquely equipped to make your stay so much easier!

Of course, totally able-bodied groups are just as welcome to enjoy a holiday here too!

Note: We can accommodate up to 10 persons comfortably in the 5 large bedrooms however we also can accommodate larger groups (up to 17) by utilising extra beds such as the sofa-beds in the lounge & bedroom-3, the trundle bed in bedroom-4 and two folding beds.

Large extendable dining table seating up to 14
Lounge – Sofas, bean bags and Rise & Recline chairs and equipped with Smart TV, DVD, Hi-Fi sound system, piano, Karaoke and games
Bedroom 1 - Sleeps two in a large room with two "Rise & Fall", profiling single beds with cot-sides & an X-Y ceiling track hoist
Bathroom 1 - Wet-room with:
Raised seat (50cm) Clos'o'mat toilet with support rails
"Rise & Fall" shower/changing bench
X-Y ceiling track hoist
Level access shower area with grab rails
Lowered basin (80cm) with grab rails
Emergency alarm
Child's & adult's shower/commode chairs

First Floor:
Bedroom 2 - Sleeps two in twin or super king-size beds (unfortunately this room is not suitable for powered wheelchairs)
Bedroom 3 - Sleeps two to four in a large room with king-size bed with optional double sofa bed (unfortunately this room is not wheelchair accessible - 3 step access)
Bedroom 4 - Sleeps two/three in twin beds (1 of which is a profiling bed and 1 trundle bed)
Bedroom 5 - Sleeps two in a double profiling bed & X-Y ceiling track hoist
Bathroom 2 - Wet-room with: high (90cm) & low (80cm) basins, accessible toilet (41cm) with arm supports, hoist accessible bath with shower over seat
