Description

Corlan is a luxurious holiday home in the Welsh village of Llanfarian, close to historic Aberystwyth and within walking distance of the beautiful River Ystwyth. With a large hot tub and games room which has a 6ft pool table and bar, this large detached cottage is ideal for big families, extended families, or friends. It has plenty of space to sleep up to nine people in four bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's a fantastic choice for people who enjoy being outdoors and active, exploring the coast, climbing mountains, sightseeing and doing all the other fun things that make this part of Wales a year-round favourite holiday destination.

Llanfarian is a pretty, tranquil village just over 2 miles south of the lovely seaside town of Aberystwyth which sits on the beautiful coastline of Cardigan Bay. Guests staying at the cottage can enjoy direct access from the front door onto the Ystwyth Cycle Trail which takes a scenic route along the river, by foot or bike, into the harbour of Aberystwyth with cafes, restaurants and shops - everything you could need or want is within easy reach without being in your face.

When you're ready to explore, you'll find Aberystwyth bursting with fun. The popular seaside resort is home to a prestigious university, and arts centre, and the National Library of Wales. Instead of a High Street crammed with copycat names, it's a lively mix of independent shops, stylish bars, and quirky cafes. Food is a massive deal in Aberystwyth, where eateries cater for all tastes and budgets. Though you might arrive ravenous, especially if you've walked or cycled from the cottage, you certainly won't leave hungry!

Day trips can include a relaxing day on one of Aberystwyth's glorious blue flag beaches, walking along the Wales Coast Path and drinking in panoramic views over Cardigan Bay. Take your binoculars to spot sea birds and dolphins, or book a seat on a sightseeing boat trip to get a little closer to Britain's biggest pod of bottle-nose dolphins. It isn't only walkers who enjoy the scenery around Corlan Cottage. Mountain bikers also love the diversity of local trails which suit all disciplines and abilities. Aberystwyth is a university town and boasts a narrow gauge railway and cliff railway, a traditional cinema and the largest Arts Centre in Wales.

You'll adore every minute of your holiday when you stay at Corlan Cottage. It is the complete package of luxury accommodation, fantastic location, space and views. The cottage is available for bookings all year round. The owner has two other holiday homes close to Corlan Cottage, each finished and furnished to the same high standard. Depending on availability, they can be booked together for extended families or friends who want to holiday together without sacrificing their space or privacy. Please see the owner's website for details.

What an amazing place to stay

By Martin G on 20-Oct-2023

What an amazing place to stay. we stayed at Corlan Cottage which is absolutely beautiful. everything you could need is included. and more!!!. spotlessly clean. secure for the dogs(and ours tried to find a way out! believe me. but couldn't). set in a brilliant location within a stone's throw from all the amenities. Also the beds are AMAZING!!!. Best night's sleep we have had for ages. Will definitely be going back. 5 big stars ***** Can't recommend enough.

Great cottage for Dad's Special 60th

By Joanne S on 18-Mar-2023

We've just returned from a great break in Corlan celebrating dad's 60th. Great location, great facilities and went to quite a few of the places your recommended that were dog friendly - thank you all.

The hot tub and pool table were a great hit with the family.

We have just returned from spending New Year in Corlan, a large 4 bedroom property that was great for our extended family. The ground floor bedroom and bathroom were ideal for my elderly parents. The hot tub and pool table were a great hit with the family. The garden was secure and we were able to let our inquisitive spaniel out on his own. The property is ideally located to visit the Cardigan coast and we had visits to New Quay and Abarearon as well as walking to Aberystwyth on the cycle path. Had some great walks in the hills and the weather meant there was some spectacular water falls. Would highly recommend.

We stayed at Corlan Aber for a 30th birthday, 4 couples stayed and there was plenty of room. The pictures honestly don’t do this place justice, it was absolutely stunning. We spent most of our time in the games room which was much better than we anticipated and in the hot tub which was fantastic!! The place was spotless and John popped over when we first arrived to show us how to use the hot tub, he was very welcoming and made sure the heating was ok in the house. It’s situated in such a nice place. We paid £7 per taxi to get into and back from aber town but is in such a quiet area it’s worth it compared to staying in the town itself. We walked into the town one day following the river which took us just over an hour and is a gorgeous walk. We would 100% stay again next time in aber and may even look at the other properties too although this will be a tough one to beat. Thanks everyone
