Left on Jan 14, 2018 for a stay in Apr 2017 If you are heading to this part of the world, the Llyn peninsula, and are looking for somewhere to stay I could not recommend any place more highly than Glan Soch. Firstly for its location, it is set well into the Llyn Peninsula allowing easy access to all the interesting places you may want to visit. Within walking distance of Hell's Mouth, a surfing beach and no more than 25 minutes journey to places of interest from history; Bardsey Island to Plas yn Rhiw, a National Trust delightful manor house with ornamental gardens and wonderful views, and the stunning beaches of Llanbedroeg. Glan Soch is a beautifully restored farmhouse, combining modern convenience with rustic charm. It has two well-appointed bedrooms and bathrooms of equally high standard. The whole house is full of light, the kitchen is enormous and perfectly well equipped with everything you could want or need. There is a dining area beyond which is a terrace overlooking open farmland with the comforting call of the neighbouring sheep. This possibly is the cleanest and best appointed place I have ever stayed, in a peaceful and private location. Whatever you have been doing during the day, you will be happy to return to Glan Soch and your very friendly hosts. Emma and Elwyn will make every effort to help and inform you of the things you may like to do and places you may like to visit without being intrusive in any way. This is a great place that you can make your own. I would always be happy to return and I really miss those sheep at breakfast time! The bonus is - dogs are welcome! Alan, Julie and Lola
Left on Nov 26, 2017 for a stay in Oct 2017 We stayed here for a week in October during half term. The cottage is faultless, immaculately clean, lovely and spacious and very peaceful. The cottage provides everything you could possibly need for a week away. Emma and Elwyn were so welcoming to such a beautiful cottage in such a beautiful, unspoilt part of the world. The log burner was brilliant making the cottage even more cosy! We went out everyday as the cottage location is tip top, 2 minutes drive to Hells Mouth, a spectacular stretch of beach which was very quiet at that time of year. We also visited Nefyn, Aberdaron, Llanbedrog and we went into Abersoch on a few occasions. We couldn't recommend this cottage enough, it is above and beyond a perfect, beach cottage and we can't wait to visit again soon.
Everything about this cottage is right: location, amenities and welcome. Everything has been generously provided to make it easy and welcoming. The Llyn peninsula is unspoiled, with a great coast-line, lovely views by day and sparkling stars by night.
Pulling on the driveway you are welcomed by Emma and that set the tone for a wonderful two weeks. The cottage is immaculately presented and gives you all you need. We were a family of four with a dog, bikes etc. The large utility room a a great space to dry things and keep the main house free of the usual holiday clutter we always seem to have. Other reviews cover the cottage well and actually we felt it is bigger that it appears in the photos. The location was perfect for us, only a 10 minute drive to Abersoch but wonderfully in the middle of no where. Quiet lanes all around so we could walk/cycle without real traffic concerns- there are cars just not many! Surrounded by fields with a private patio and large drive/ front lawn ensure the children and dog had space to run free as required. Special mention must also go the neighbouring family, the barn owls. Watching them come out to feed as the light faded each evening never became less magical. Hells mouth beach great for waves and we found the south end of Abersoch beach, by Mickey's Boatyard, the best spot for something more sheltered. The former 5 minutes in the car and the later just over 10 minutes. Finally a special word for the hosts. They get the balance spot on between being there if needed for advice on anything locally, and they knew about everything, but equally you could go a whole holiday without knowing they were there. First time at Glam Soch but hope it will not be the last - if nothing else my daughter has promised Emma and Elwyn she will bake them another cake!
This is the perfect place to say if you're looking for a quiet location with amazing views. Abersoch itself is a pretty seaside village with great places to eat and shop. The cottage was beautiful inside and out. It was by far the best holiday rental we have stayed in. Spotlessly clean and fabulous throughout. The owners were wonderful and offered lots of information, which was really helpful as we had not visited the area before. We cannot recommend this highly enough. A fabulous find!
This was our second stay at this lovely cottage. It is a peaceful base for exploring the lovely Llyn Peninsula. It is a super cycling area as there are lots of quiet roads, most with excellent sea views. Golf at Nevyn is close by and there is a lovely beach at Hell's Mouth which is only about 20 mins walk from Glan Soch. There is also a shop that is a 10 minute cycle ride away, or a half hour walk, in the neighbouring village of Llangian
