Thalatta is a homely little cottage which is very close to the beach at Aberporth. The conservatory looks directly down to the beach. It has a large wooden table and chairs and is a pleasant spot to eat and relax in. It is well equipped, everything works well and the instructions are easy to follow. The wood burner is lovely and warm and makes it feel cosy. We enjoyed some good walks from the front door. The walk to Tresaith is along an accessible path which is easy and very scenic. We saw dolphins which was such a treat. Tresaith has a lovely beach with an interesting waterfall! Well worth the short walk. We also walked to the National trust beach in the other direction at Mwnt. This is about 6 miles and is more strenuous, though also very beautiful. We saw fewer people on this path. There are toilets and a very welcome cafe at Mwnt. Great for hot chocolate and toasted sandwiches! A good car park there if you don’t fancy a long walk. Well worth visiting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Thalatta and would highly recommend it to others.
Our stay in Thalatta was very enjoyable. We found all the comfort you can wish for to have a wonderful holiday! The way the cottage is laid out and perfectly equipped made us feel very welcome and at ease. Thalatta offers all the amenities required for a good rest, not only when the sun shines, BUT even when the weather is a little temperamental. Having breakfast in the wonderful conservatory overlooking the beach is ideal for making plans for the day, like exploring the coast along the wonderful Coast Path nearby. Just up the hill in three minutes walking distance you find a nice pub, a fish & chips shop, a café with excellent ice cream just round the corner, and there's even a little shop in the village offering an amazing variety of 'stuff' in a small space. Last but not least: During our stay we required a bit of attention from the owners, and the communication was indeed even better than excellent, it was exceptional, i.e. prompt and very helpful. In short: we can highly recommend Thalatta for anyone wanting to explore this special part of the Welsh coast!
This is our third stay at Thalatta and will be returning. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need for your stay. The kitchen is very well equipped if you like to cook and there is an excellent farm shop in Tan-y-Groes for your butchery supplies. The beach is just across the road and you will never tire of the beach and sea views from the sun room. There are eateries ( pub, 2 cafes, beach bar, fish & chip shop and Indian takeaway) within walking distance together with a shop, post office and pharmacy. If you don’t want to drive you have everything on your doorstep including a very good bus service to go further afield.
The perfect home away from home. The house has everything you need, plus it’s cosy, clean and comfortable, with a gorgeous view of the sea. Situated in the best location, with the beach a stone’s throw from the bottom of the garden. The owners have been so kind, helpful and friendly too. We love Aberporth, and now we’ve discovered this gem of a holiday home, we’ll be back as often as we can!
We had a wonderful stay at Thalatta. We were so impressed by the attention to detail for the comfort of visitors. With the weather very unserrled (early April) it was such a relief to have a cosy cottage. It was very clean and nicely decorated. Parking excellent. View and proximity to the beach was great..The view from veranda as we ate our meals was a treat in stormy and calm weather of which we had both in 4 days!
The cottage is very well placed overlooking Aberporth beach, it is a comfortable and well kept place with everything you need. We enjoyed our few days here and would happily use it again on another visit to the west coast of Wales.
