KESTREL is LESS THAN 100 METRES FROM THE WATER'S EDGE, in the grounds of Aberdovey Hillside Village, which is idyllically located at the heart of the picturesque seaside village of Aberdovey (Aberdyfi), in the Snowdonia National Park. KESTREL offers spacious and comfortable accommodation, with AMAZING, ever-changing, PANORAMIC, CLEAR SEA VIEWS, a short walk from all the many attractions that Aberdovey has to offer, including its miles of sandy beaches.
KESTREL is particularly popular with those seeking somewhere to stay that is unique couples for a romantic get away, is the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy the many wonderful things Aberdovey and the local area have to offer. Its spacious, comfortable design and breath-taking views make it perfect for couples or small groups of friends or family, looking to stay together in one property. KESTREL sleeps 4 across 2 bedrooms with a south facing balcony off the lounge.
It is frequently booked with H4 OSPREY directly below which also sleeps 4, both apartments have their own external access, however when the properties are taken together there is an internal staircase (normally within Osprey) which can be opened up. It is also used as part of a multi-property booking with other properties at Hillside Village.
KESTREL as with several of our properties has a second bedroom with two single divan beds that abut as standard, can be separated - (also can be made into super king bed with super king topper, sheets and duvet - an extra charge when booking). This is a great option for two couples sharing and those that want a bigger bed!

KESTREL enjoys amazing, ever-changing, south facing sea views of the Dyfi (Dovey) estuary, hills, mountains, Cardigan Bay and beyond. Check out our two WEBCAMS on our website, they are set up to pan from East through South to the West and back again 24/7.
LIVING ACCOMMODATION
KESTREL's living area is spacious and open plan, the lounge as can be seen from the photographs the sea views are spectacular.
The lounge has a coffee table a leather armchair and sofa as well as a feature chair and side tables. There is a Smart TV with digital Freeview with a DVD player. Hillside Village has a library of DVDs as well as books for guests to borrow.
The Dining area and provides access to its south facing balcony through patio windows has views has views over the estuary and sea beyond. the dining table can comfortably seat six, which assists in bringing together to eat those staying in Osprey if it is taken with Kestrel, which assists in bringing together to eat those staying in Kestrel if it is taken with Osprey. We can provide a table and chairs that sits 8 on Osprey's east terrace for alfresco dining.
The kitchen is situated on a raised level and looks down over the lounge dining areas, you feel like you are on a bridge of a ship, has also amazing sea views. It has the following appliances Dishwasher, Fridge freezer, Electric fan oven and hob. There is plenty of storage space and kitchen equipment with matching utensils for 6.
SLEEPING ACCOMMODATION
KESTREL has two bedrooms sleeping 4 as follows:
Bedroom 1 - is an alcove within in the living space, from its double bed you can enjoy panoramic sea views as illustrated in the photographs, it has a bedside table and a wardrobe & shelving unit.
KESTREL has with several of our properties has a second bedroom with two single divan beds that abut as standard, can be separated - (also can be made into super king bed with super king topper, sheets and duvet - an extra charge when booking). This is a great option for two couples sharing and those that want a bigger bed!

ACCESS AND PARKING
KESTREL's parking is in the Guest Parking area, which could include parking adjacent to Osprey's side terrace, one parking space is allocated to Kestrel, additional parking spaces subject to availability. The property is split level. The access to Kestrel is via a short path to the front door, there is then a internal flight of stairs to the hallway of the apartment less than10 metres from a drop off point.

GENERALLY in respect of all our properties the lounges are comfortably furnished with settees and armchairs, coffee tables and TV with free-to-air digital. Beds are made up prior to arrival, with pillows, duvets and all bed linen (no bath or hand towels are provided). Whether properties have more than one bath / shower room and its content is specified for each property on their page. All kitchens are equipped with electric or gas hobs & ovens, microwave ovens, toasters, automatic kettles, refrigerator, most have separate freezers and a comprehensive range of cooking utensils. All utility costs are inclusive. Washing machines and dryers are in the guest laundrette off the Terrace Lounge. WI-FI AND SMART TVs - we know that being able to connect to the outside world is part of life today and particularly important for families to have a Wi-Fi network they can connect to for their children. We are pleased to say that with a combination of our Superfast Broadband transmitted through numerous access points and our Three and EE hubs connected to a 5G transmitter in line of sight across the estuary we have this covered. All our properties have Smart TVs. All mobile networks provide good 4G or 5G indoor and outdoor service to us. We have several properties that are accessible for those with restricted mobility, and can provide shower or bath seats. For young families cots and high chairs are available. It is a wonderful place for just relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet and the ever-changing views.

ABERDOVEY AND THE AREA AROUND
HILLSIDE VILLAGE and KESTREL is only a short walk from pubs, restaurants, shops, beaches apart from its on-site indoor and outdoor facilities for all the family.
You can walk to anywhere in Aberdovey from Hillside Village, and up into the hills above us using the Wales Coast Path, which we are on! There is another public footpath that takes you along a scenic route to Penhelig, from the Penhelig Railway Station you can enjoy the delightful scenery of the Cambrian Coast Railway to such places as Tywyn and connect to the Talyllyn Narrow Guage Railway; Harlech Castle; Portmerion and Porthmadog (which is on the Festiniog & Welsh Highland Railway and travel on by steam loco to Caernarfon, Blaenau Ffestiniog and Beddgelert amongst others).
THERE IS PLENTY TO DO IN WALKING DISTANCE ON LAND OR WATER!
Sailing, Sailboarding, Kitesurfing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Paddleboarding on the estuary,
enjoy the waves off the length of the beach, which is open to Cardigan Bay - surfing, body boarding, kitesurfing etc, watch out for the dolphins there too, as they follow fish in close to the shore.
Chartered Fishing Trips. Crabbing off the Jetty a must for kids during their stay.
Golf at Aberdovey Golf Club - PGA Lessons, Caddies, buggies and trolley hire
Aberdovey Lawn Bowls Club is open to visitors, it has in addition to a fine Lawn Bowling Green, Tennis Courts, Croquet and Putting course.
Take to your road or mountain bike and enjoy the variety of terrain. Bike hire is also available. Fish the river Dovey (Dyfi) and enjoy some of the best sea trout and salmon fishing in the uk
Neuadd Dyfi - holds a variety of events throughout the year, including Art exhibitions, theatre and musical productions both local and those on tour, and every January the Aberdovey Panto (see a pic of one of the productions above!).
Just a short walk away are Aberdovey's stylish boutiques and other specialty shops, an art gallery where local artist exhibit; there is pharmacy and two small supermarkets one incorporating a Post Office; there’s an award-winning butcher (Welsh lamb is a speciality, of course!) and you can buy freshly-caught seafood from the harbour pier (Dai's Shed).
Aberdovey ice-cream parlours, cafes, restaurants, pubs and of course is a fish and chip shop, and other takeaways some of the restaurants offer a take away service too.
There are plenty of other things to do, just a short drive or train journey along the Cambrian Coast Railway.
