An imposing, secluded 4 bedroom villa set in probably the best location in Menorca. Situated on one on the most prominent hills in the 500 hectare country park this villa enjoys a 360 degree aspect, the sun setting behind the Monastery of Monte Toro, and yet only 15 minutes from the center of Mahon.

Second highest property in the park, after the original farm house, enjoying one of the most exclusive aspects and views of the island. The park of S’Albufera is the largest and most important wetland area in the Balearic Islands.

A long upward-sloping drive leads to a large graveled parking area and steps up to the house itself with bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor and a spacious living area above, taking advantage of those extensive views.

The upstairs front door leads into high vaulted open-plan sitting and dining areas and a well- equipped kitchen with electric oven and grill, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The main sitting room has large comfortable L-shaped seating by a corner fireplace and a smart flat-screen TV connected to the Wifi and Sky dish, with DVD and music system. At the far end is a further sitting and dining area surrounded on three sides by fully opening windows onto more countryside views, with stairs down to the courtyard. Outside the kitchen, overlooking the pool area, there’s also a terrace with table and chairs for eight and sun-awning.

An internal staircase leads down to the ground floor.

Bedroom 1 has a king-size double bed with ample built in wardrobe storage, and an attached wet room with shower, wash basin and WC and French windows leading out to the courtyard. Bedroom 2 has twin beds and an en suite with shower over a bath, basin and WC and a door to the courtyard. Bedroom 3 is another with a double bed, built in wardrobe and French windows again to the courtyard and Bedroom 4 has twin beds, built in wardrobe, air conditioning and French windows into the garden with further access to the courtyard. There is also a family bathroom with separate shower cubicle, bath, washbasin and WC. All the bedrooms have ceiling fans, shutters with mosquito blinds and net curtains..

The attractive old courtyard provides plentiful sheltered space for sunbathing, an undercover area for alfresco dining, a Weber gas barbecue and in one corner a laundry room with washer, iron, ironing board etc which can also double as a summer kitchen with fridge, sink, built in cupboards and work surfaces for food preparation in conjunction with the barbecue.

A door from the courtyard leads through to the pool terrace. The roughly 10 X 9 meter pool is surrounded by terracing with ample space for sun loungers. There’s a sun shaded pergola with comfortable seating and an outside shower room with wash basin and WC.

The surrounding gardens, planted with a great variety of trees and shrubs including oleander, tamarisk, pomegranate, and citrus, are surrounded mostly by stone walls, behind which lie a further variety of native wild bushes and trees.

Although the property gives one a feeling of being so private and isolated the little fishing village of Es Grau, with a useful well stocked shop, a really child-friendly beach and beachside bars, is only a ten minute drive away. The port of Mahon, buzzing with activity, is about 15 minutes by car and the airport can be reached in under 20 minutes.

Perfect in every way

By Tim Bentinck on 03-Sep-2022

Timonera is the most beautiful villa. Wonderful large pool, loads of different places to bask outside and luxuriously equipped inside. Great kitchen, lovely views, good internet and utterly peaceful. We really didn’t want to leave!

So peaceful with views of the natural park

By Graham and Helen on 19-Aug-2022

We had a very happy return stay at Timonera last month with our family and three granddaughters. The location is stunning and so peaceful with views of the natural park surrounding the villa. Our accomodation was comfortable and spacious. We were glad of the fans in the bedrooms, and the air con in the kids room was very much needed. The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you need for self catering. The huge fridge/ freezer is wonderful. We found having a door to the pool area which can be closed a very useful safety point. The large pool is well maintained and the gradient steps into the water made it ideal for our kids. We found the seperate laundry room with washing machine and deep sink very handy. With the Menorcan weather and the tranquil surroundings we had a wonderful time and send a big thankyou for sharing this lovely villa with us again.

Thanks Graham and Helen.... so glad you were able to get back out to the villa after the 'Covid break' we all had to endure. Hope you can make back to the island again for many summers to come.

A lovely villa in a beautiful setting

By Miriam on 30-Jul-2022

We had a wonderful stay in this villa which was in a perfect location for us; quiet and secluded and yet just a short drive to numerous lovely places. The views from the balcony over the national park are just beautiful. It looks like there are lots of scenic walks you can do there too, although it was too hot for that on our trip. The villa itself is really spacious and well equiped. We particularly appreciated the beach stuff that was available to borrow such as parasols, buckets and spades. My husband was a big fan of the bbq and found the sink and fridge in the utility room useful when he was cooking (mostly for beers I think!). The kids loved jumping in the pool which was a really good size. And whatever the time of day there are plenty of places around the villa to find a nice, shady spot (or sunny if you prefer). We loved Menorca too, so hopefully we will be back sometime.
