We have just returned from a really enjoyable stay at the Villa Aroeira II and felt compelled to write a review based on our experience. Our group of 7 consisted of both my parents, sister and teenage niece as well as my husband and I with our 16 month old son - so really covered all spectrums. Booking of the villa was really easy through Allure Villas and I would HIGHLY recommend using them. The staff online were so helpful with all the arrangements and gave a great peace of mind when booking. We were greeted on arrival and shown around the villa which was actually better than the photos which was a great surprise. It was spacious and very clean with excellent facilities in the kitchen and living area had TV, DVD and cable. The pool outside was really a highlight although quite deep for those that arent confident swimmers but for those water babied among our group they almost never left the entire time we stayed. Te outdoor area has a great canopy that shades a table and chairs which allowed us to dine outside most lunchtime and evenings which was a real treat. The garden was private and looked out onto the golf course but we had no interruptions the entire stay. In side the villa there are 3 level - ground floor has master bedroom and ensuite which was great and enough space to allow the travel cot and baby items to be stored without restrictions. Then there were two double rooms which shared a bathroom and all have air con. Upper level is a study which opens out onto the balcony for great views and sun bathing opportunities Lower level has more sleeping accommodation with shower room, toilet and open space. This did smell musty when we went downstairs however that had gone after we had aired it. As there was no air con downstairs we didnt stay there so think that is the only downside to the property. Its a shame as one of the rooms is lower level of the pool so the window makes you feel like you're in an underwater room so if they fix that element it gets 10/10! The property has at least 6 sunbeds with cushions and lots of towels are provided which is great. We had someone call to clean the pool mid week which again was great to have arranged. The villa is situated on the Aroeira resort which has fab little supermarket, amazing restaurant at great prices, coffee shop, cocktail bar and pharmacy etc which is 4min drive in car but still walkable The villa is only 30-40mins drive to Lisbon Center and same from a HUGE shopping center and supermarket which we visited twice. We also drove to Setubal to experience a Dolphin Cruise which would highly recommend and the whole family enjoyed. The location is really central so highly recommend. My husband and I also visited L'AND Vineyards for an evening to enjoy wine tasting, spa and dinner - check this out too if you have time as about 1hr drive away. This Villa is great value and perfect for family / group of friends to enjoy. Almost forgot to mention the outdoor BBQ is there too so really has everything you need. July 2015
Villa Aroeira II is a great villa with great management. form the early booking until our departure most of the things were perfect. We were a large group of 12 (4 children) and Villa is big enough to have space of your own. There are some remarks but I would not state it as crucial. In the booking we did not see anywhere that part of the rooms are in basement. Probably it is a good solution in the summer when sun is heating you up to 40 degrees Celsius. I would rather say it is a 10 persons Villa as two beds are in the room which you have to pass when going to other two rooms and it is in a part of basement which is not so attractive. Nice room is the one which has a view into the pool from the side so you can see person swimming or diving in the pool. Kitchen is very well equipped. WI-Fi was working only in the main part of Villa and not in the rooms in the basement. For workaholics on holidays there is an office you can use if you need it with table and entrance to the roof terrace. Surrounding of the villa is nice but rather isolated from the everything so if you need something there is a little shop at the entrance of the property to the Golf ground but it is a 20 minutes walk or few minutes by car. On the same place there is a small restaurant. We used big shops around Lisbon area while traveling around so that was not a problem. To have a car is a must if you want to see something around so we visited some really nice beaches and towns, went to Lisbon, Sintra, Palmela...Plenty of sights to see and things to do
Ten people spent a nice week in late October. We liked the house even if the temperature was a bit to low to use the pool. Two golfcourses just around the corner but we preferred Quinta de Peru 30 min drive from the house. The restaurant Golf Agua was surprisingly good. Wifi did not work in the beginning but management sorted that soon and were very helpful with everything. Kitchen well equipped. Easy to recommend!!
