Description

"Lobster Pot Cottage" is situated in the historic old town of Whitby, just a short stroll from the colourful harbour overlooking and almost protected by the abbey ruins. Famed for its connections with Captain James Cook and Bram Stoker's Dracula, Whitby is a bustling seaside town steeped in history and boasting a 3 mile stretch of award winning sandy beaches, cobbled streets, ginnels and alleyways lined with antique and curio shops, inns and tea rooms serving some of Yorkshire’s finest cuisine.

Impressive ships such as The Grand Turk and the Endeavour replica often visit the port. Fishing trips and the stunning Pannet Park home to the Cook Museum are all on your doorstep. Step back in time as you visit the smugglers coves of Robin Hoods Bay, Staithes and Runswick Bay untouched by the hands of time and a must when visiting this area. The North Yorkshire Moors National Park is a 10 minute drive where cycle tracks and bridle paths lead to pretty little villages tucked away deep in the valleys, or take a more leisurely journey through the glorious Esk Valley into ’Heartbeat's’ very own village of Goathland on board the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Train.

An 18-hole golf course, crazy golf, boating, go-carting and paddling pool are all available on the west cliff. Within easy access to the market towns of Pickering, Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley. Shop 20 yards, pub 50 yards. Lobster Pot Cottage has two double bedrooms - both en-suite - and a twin bedroom situated next to the house bathroom with wc, bath and shower. There is also a separate downstairs wc. A high quality travel cot and high chair are also available. Outside, there is a small rear courtyard with garden furniture and potted plants and, rare for Whitby, there is private parking for one car. Regrettably, we do not accept pets.

An excellent base for visiting Whitby, very central for all amenities. Ample space and privacy for 3 couples. Everything you need for a relaxing break. We're booked in again for next year already.

Lobster Pot Cottage

By Baz, Penistone, S. Yorkshire on 16-Nov-2014

The cottage is very cosy comfortable and very clean the welcome pack is very welcoming and high standard the cottages central position means that all our favourite places were in easy reach ie Magpie cafe for its excellent fish dishes the little angel pub for a evening drink, and of course church street in the older part of Whitby for its excellent pubs and of course fortunes kippers. Near the bridge Greens for the special meal at the end of our stay we enjoyed our stay very much and we will definetly be booking lobster pot cottage again very soon.

Perfect spot for a weekend break

By Louise, York on 04-Dec-2014

I had visited Lobster pot cottage a few years ago with a group of girlfriends and had also stayed in the cottage next door, so knew it would be the perfect spot for a winter weekend break with my husband and friends. We weren't disappointed. Spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable with ample space for 6 adults. Very well equipped and the welcome pack was a lovely personal touch. Lobster pot cottage is ideally situated as it is very close to the harbour, shops and restaurants so once we'd parked on the Friday we had no further need for the car. There are lots of nice places to eat and drink very close by. We will definitely return!
