Description
The property consists of 2 floors. On the ground floor you will find a comfortable and spacious living area with a wood burner and English tv, a fully equipped kitchen and breakfast area, the master bedroom with double bed, and a bathroom with wc. Make use of the enclosed veranda, overlooking countryside for dining or just relax in a comfy chair with a glass of wine watching the sunset.
Wi Fi is available free of charge.
The second bedroom with twin beds, shower room with wc and a summer kitchen with fridge can be found on the lower ground floor. French doors lead on to a terrace with furniture and bbq and small herb garden which you are welcome to use, New addition to the herb garden 2015 is alpine strawberries, I know they aren't herbs but they are lovely. There is a large private garden with loungers, and a quiet corner to catch the evening sun.
The lower part of the garden is left as a wild area. Over the years this has become quite a wildlife haven as we have endeavoured to grow a succession of insect loving plants. Verbena bonariensis and buddleia proving very popular with butterflies such as Swallowtails, Peacocks, Red Admirals, Painted Lady, Marbled whites, Brimstone, Large and Small Whites to name some. Quite a variety of birds visit our garden and Buzzards are frequently seen overhead
Bed linen and towels are available on request. Tea towels are provided
Be sure to listen out for the horn of the bread van with its gorgeous fresh bread that visits the hamlet daily, usually late morning. The shops, large supermarkets and weekly markets can be found In Angles and Moutiers les Mauxfaits, just a five minutes’ drive from the house, or La Tranche sur Mer.

The golden EC Blue Flag Beaches of La Tranche sur Mer are just 15 minutes away where you will also find a good selection of restaurants, bars and shops along with a twice weekly market. Also, close by are the beaches of of Les Conches and La Terriere which are ideal for surfing. The home of the Vendee Globe Round the World Yacht Race, Les Sables d' Olonne is just 25 mins away. A beautiful area where you can enjoy the boutiques and restaurants along the harbour or watch the world go by in one of the seafront restaurants and bars. There are a number of marked out walks and cycle routes in the area with some wine routes also available where you can taste and purchase some locally produced wines direct from the vineyard. La Rochelle, an old market town is about 1hr drive from the house and the ancient castle in the town of Talmont St Hilaire isn’t too far away either. A must see during your stay is the spectacular show at Puy de Fou.
There is a new Water Park, opened in 2016 that has proved very popular with our clients and is a recommended day out. There is also a swimming pool with water slides in La Tranche.
