Description

A hilltop family villa, built in stone with spectacular views towards the Mediterranean coast and situated 2kms from the historic medieval village of Callian, this house offers a peaceful, private and comfortable place to spend your holiday.

The house, now on three levels, was built around an original 2-storey shepherd’s hut, and the kitchen and main bedroom feature the original stone walls.

From the entrance hall there is the main double bedroom with en-suite shower room. Two further twin bedded rooms, family bathroom and separate lavatory are also on the first floor. All bedrooms have magnificent views across the Esterel Hills. These three bedrooms have air con

Curved stairs lead up to the Belvedere at the very top of the house. This has a truly panoramic outlook and has two single beds. There is also a 'baby foot' in this room There is a further independent shower room with toilet on this level.

Stairs from the entrance hall lead down to an inner hallway with guest toilet and then into a spacious salon with comfortable sofas, tv and dvd player, games and books for all ages. French windows give access to the terraced gardens and pool below and there is a log fire for spring and autumn evenings.

At the far end of the salon double doors lead into the studio: a large double room with en-suite bath, kitchenette and private loo. The house is equipped with a washing machine.

Leading from the salon is the traditionally tiled kitchen, fully equipped with dishwasher, gas hob and electric fan oven. Oak dining table. Adjoining larder with large capacity fridge/freezer.

Glazed doors lead out east to the covered terrace with teak coffee table and chairs, and built in barbeque, and south to the main terrace, shaded by vines, a pergola and olive trees. The terrace has views down to the pool and over the mountains to the coast, 35kms away.

The 5 x 12 m infinity pool is equipped with immersion pool alarm, as required by French law, and there is also a wire fence enclosing the pool area. The gardens are not overlooked and there are breathtaking views from all areas, especially the infinity pool. There are mulberry, apricot and fig trees growing along the shady terrace. Covered parking for two cars plus open parking for 2 more cars.

Family of 9 from 4 years to 60... we all went wow!

By Adrian on 12-Aug-2023

This villa lived uo to every expectation from its photos and description... and then some. We arrived late in the evening and walked straight onto the rear terrace. The pool lights were on and the valley sparkled with flickering lights. It was beautiful. The villa was equipped with everything you could need. We immediately felt at home and relaxed. The local town was small and charming and down the hill were all the conveniences of supermarkets, fuel stations restaurants etc... It is located in the mountains and the roads reflect this. It can be a challenging drive, especially if you've not driven in mountains before. I had, but it was a whole new experience for my two sons following... but fun! Plenty to see and visit nearby, but is equally perfect for just staying by the magnificent pool and relaxing. I highly recommend this villa to everyone.

Fab holiday!

We had a fantastic week. The village is beautiful (down a very steep hill!) with some good restaurants. The view from the house is incredible and everybody loved the pool! The house is fairly ‘rustic’ inside but we loved our week here.

Beautiful pool

Beautiful grounds and great location, as long as you are fit as the walk back from town is a workout!
