Description

East Byre was previously a cow byre and hayloft; it now offers flexible accommodation as either:
A two storey house for up to six guests plus three cots; in three bedrooms with three bath/shower rooms OR
An accessible ground floor self-contained apartment, suitable for part-time wheelchair users, for up to two guests plus a cot, in one bedroom with a shower room. There are two parking spaces allocated to the property.

Ground Floor
You may enter either through the front door, down a step into the hallway; or alternatively a step free, wide door access is available via the enclosed patio area gate, through double doors, down a ramp in to the sitting area.
The small hallway has coat hooks. From here, stairs lead to the first floor bedroom, bathroom and en-suite bedroom.
The first door opens into the kitchen/dining/sitting area.
The sitting area has three sofas and two footstools providing ample cosy seating for six. The foot stools have hinged lids and store a selection of board games, there is also a coffee table. This furniture is arranged around a recessed electric flame/log effect fire. There is a wall mounted TV/DVD and CD/radio/I pod dock.
There are double doors with ramp leading out in to a self contained patio area with table and chairs.
The kitchen, fitted with wall and floor units has good worktop space and a sink. There is an integrated electric oven and hob with extractor hood over, an integrated fridge freezer and dishwasher and a microwave oven. The under stairs cupboard houses an automatic washing machine (a tumble dryer shared with West Barn is situated in the North Stables building, across the yard).
There is a dining table and chairs for six people.
A door opens in to the ground floor bedroom. This has zip and link beds that can be arranged as 3 ft twins or a super king. There is a triple wardrobe with drawers under and two bedside tables. The deep window sill serves as a dressing table (blinds give privacy); it has a stool and illuminated mirror. There is a TV/DVD, clock radio and hairdryer. There is space for a cot.
An outward opening door leads into the ground floor shower room. This has a toilet, basin with shaver point/light, wall cabinet and a large shower recess (1000x900mm) with a curtain for ease of access. There are several grab rails fitted to aid use of the toilet and shower by those with additional mobility needs; a shower seat and raised toilet seat are also available.

First Floor
Upstairs a landing provides a study area with desk and chair.
A bedroom is furnished with zip and link beds that can be arranged as 3 ft twins or a super king, a bedside table, triple wardrobe with drawers under and a dressing table with mirror and stool. A TV/DVD, clock radio and hairdryer are provided. There is space for a cot.
On the further landing, the original hay loft loading door forms an interesting feature window. A cupboard contains laundry and cleaning items.
The en-suite master bedroom is furnished with a king size bed, bedside tables, dressing table with mirror and stool, triple wardrobe and chest of drawers. There is a TV, clock radio and hairdryer. There is space for a cot.
A door leads into a shower room with toilet, basin and 1200mm wide shower enclosure with sliding door.
The main bathroom is fitted with a toilet, basin with shaver point/light, wall cabinet, corner shower enclosure and freestanding bath.
East Byre has its own lockable, indoor storage space in the North Stables building, across the yard. This secure, dry space is fitted with coat hooks, a shelf and boot rack and is ideal for storing bicycles, outdoor equipment, excess luggage and outdoor clothing/footwear.
