Description

This magnificent renovated manor house, near a wonderful sandy beach in the Breton countryside, is the ideal vacation spot for a family or groups of 6 to 12 people.

Set in grounds of 3,000m2, Kervigen Manor House retains its classic character, with impressive granite façade and original features, while delivering high-quality fully modernised accommodation. Kervigen easily sleeps up to 12 on three floors, while remaining cozy for smaller groups. The property also boasts a large sports field and an indoor games area in one of the barns.

Nearby is the glorious Kervigen beach, only 500m from the house, and flanked by the Breton coastal path. The small town of Plomodiern is 4km by road, and boasts a selection of shops, including a good-sized supermarket, and a Michelin-starred restaurant. Above Plomodiern lies the mountain of Menez-Hom, part of the Parc d’Amorique, with perhaps the best views in Brittany. From here you can see as far as Brest to the north, Chateaulin to the east, Locronan and Quimper to the south and the magnificent Douarnenez Bay, flanked by Pointe du Raz and the Crozon Peninsular, to the west.

A selection of comments from our clients so far

Being new to SimplyOwners, we have not gathered any reviews as yet. But here are a sample of comments from clients sent to us over the last 10 years, and published on our own website. “My seven year old grandson described it as ‘epic’ – what more can I say.” “Charming, idyllic, great location – the best holiday we’ve ever been on thank you. The beach is great for kids wanting to paddle in the pools, and within easy walking distance.” “Beautiful! You had clearly thought about everything. Little details like having UK plug sockets in most of the rooms made life much easier when charging electronic devices.” “The long barn was ideal for the children and they had a wonderful time in there as well as on the field.” “An excellent house for families with different age groups. Beaches close by and safe.” “The beaches are absolutely amazing - the grandchildren had never seen a starfish before, and none of us had seen one that was 40cm wide!” “A great place for a family summer holiday – quiet, spacious and freedom for the children. Good close shopping facilities and many lovely places to visit.” “Very impressive – great house and the gardens are superb. The beaches are amazing and probably the highlight for us.” “Beautifully restored manor house set in neat and tidy grounds in a peaceful and tranquil location. Very well equipped and provision of showers / bathrooms very impressive with oodles of hot water. Written information – both pre-trip and in the house - was very comprehensive and useful. Overall 9/10.” “Beautiful countryside, beaches and coastline. Plomodiern is a pleasant, neat little town. Crozon superb and nearby Morgat excellent – wonderful beach and restaurants.” “Overall a brilliant holiday – thank you.” “The house is great. Well laid out, spacious and plenty of room for our two families to have our own space when we wanted. The bathrooms are fantastic - lovely that we all had our own, including the children. The garden and field at the rear were good for ball games and the barbecue/patio area also a great space for eating and relaxing.” “The area is beautiful. The villages and towns are so well kept and maintained. The beach at Kervigen is clean and was great for swimming, sun-bathing and exploring rock pools. Great food available everywhere too.” “Had it turned out wet all week I think the house would’ve served us well as it offers so much space.” “What a fantastic house that is well equipped to a high standard! Great facilities and enough space to accommodate 13 of us! We've loved the beach and had many early morning swims and enjoyed the shallowness of the water and the size of the waves! The house is perfect for trips to Brest, Quimper, Locronan, Concarneau and Benodet!” “The house was amazing - and the beach was just stunning ... the girls are now quite accomplished surfers!!” “We were overwhelmed by the beauty of the house and all the modern facilities so cleverly blended with the original features. The colour pallet of blues, greys, creams and yellow were stylish and pleasing to the eye . The flowers in every alcove added charm.” “Having stayed in many rental properties, I think Kervigen was the first one where the space was more than adequate for the number of people. After long days on the beach with 7 children and 4 adults, the 4 bathrooms were fantastic, and always enough hot water. The bedrooms were beautiful, and with loads of space ... we never felt on top of each other.” “Many thanks for a fabulous week’s holiday - the house is very comfortable and well equipped” “Lovely house in beautiful setting. House was very well equipped with just about everything we could possibly need. Beautiful beaches and countryside, very unspoilt. Lots of places to explore.” “There were eleven of us we each had comfortable beds, plenty of bathrooms and a very comfortable lounge. The kitchen table fitted us all in. Fabulous!” “Beautiful house, lovely décor, very comfortable and it has everything you need. Nice large garden. Very close to a lovely beach and in a really peaceful area. We had a really lovely holiday there.” “Lots to see and do in relatively compact area to occupy all members of family and all ages. Proximity to the beach a great bonus.” “Most people crowd into the south coast of Brittany, the bay of Douarnenez is less known and therefore quieter. Our family spent most of the time on the beaches, which are super safe. The sand yachts at Pentrez are a must, supervision is safe for 10yr olds and over.” “Lovely house and gardens. Everything was there that we may have needed or forgotten, thank you. Plenty of space for our extended family in the communal areas. Very quiet. Very convenient for beach, walks, shops, and tourist areas. We made use of all garden furniture, barbecue, telly, games that were thoughtfully provided.” “Everything on the doorstep. Beautiful beaches, boulangerie, supermarket and restaurants.” “Everything was there that we may have needed or forgotten, thank you.” “Surf school really close by at Pors ar Vag beach, and great restaurant. Surf school spoke great English, so perfect for the children.” “Plomodiern provides everything. Intermarché good. Go to the baker in Ploéven. Les Dunes is a superb restaurant for the special occasion.” “Lots to see and do in relatively compact area to occupy all members of family and all ages. Proximity to the beach a great bonus.” “Coastal walks spectacular.” “We would definitely recommend your beautiful house to friends, and can’t wait to return ourselves.” “All the linen and towels were included in the price, which was fantastic, and what lovely soft towels.” “We had a truly memorable week with our family and your beautiful house was the star.” “Overall, we had one of the most relaxing holidays ever – thank you.” “We had a truly memorable holiday - perfect.”
