Wonderful French Getaway

By Dave on 08-Mar-2023

I had forgotten how spacious and most comfortable this barn conversion was. Returning with family and very active young grandchildren!! The kids had a great time both inside and outside the house running around playing games etc. The double swing was a great addition, as were the small football nets on the well maintained gardens. The property has been seen several upgrades, beds, furniture and has everything that you could possibly need plus more. The TV box which had multiple channels including Children programmes which went down well. We visited several different beaches during our stay most were no more then half an hour''s drive away on deserted roads. Visited Bayeux, Mont St Michael and Second World War landing beaches. Lots to see and do if you want to. Great communication from the owners throughout. Will be returning again. Thanks.

Fabulous home in a wonderful environment.

Last week we had a wonderful stay at La Maison du Chêne with our family. The rooms were fantastic with queensize beds and bathrooms connected to the rooms. The living room was cosy and warm and in the garden there was a large table for all of us so we could sit in the sun and have a nice drink. We’ve seen Omaha Beach, Mont St. Michel, Villedieu les Poûles and its market, Bayeux and its cathedral, a Calvados tour at Pierre Huet which was very nice, and of course a good BBQ outside. We would like to thank Jackie for being such a wonderful host in a beautiful French house and its environment.

Highly Recommend this one

Had a wonderful 4 night''s stay in this gorgeous, sympathetically restored old farmhouse. It was spacious, yet cosy, clean and well-maintained. Set in a peaceful, semi-rural location within close proximity of the lovely village of Percy, with it’s shops, supermarket and restaurants. Within in around 1 hour drive there are many places of interest including the Normandy landing beaches, museums and the Bayeaux Tapestry. The owners (and cleaner!) were very thoughtful and accommodating to our needs. Simple things like supplying kitchen and bathroom necessities, logs for the fire etc, and a comprehensive instruction manual with advice in both English and French. Thank you so much! Looking forward to returning again next year!
