Description

Covid-19. Our housekeeper is professionally trained in her main job as housekeeping manager of a large hall and wedding venue. We have put in place everything required or suggested by the guidance, and you can be assured that everything will have been cleaned using the right detergents and bleach, to ensure a secure, safe and importantly relaxed holiday.

Our website is www.sandpipercottageamble.co.uk, on which you can see lots of photographs, information on the house which is extremely well equipped, prices and availability and from where you can either email or click on our booking form. We book from Saturday to Saturday and only do short 4 night bookings during the lowest priced winter season.

The property is one of the largest stone built terraced cottages and closest to the beach, in the fishing port of Amble by the Sea, with a lovely sunny rear terrace, kitchen and front living room. The rear living room is warm and cosy, with a huge original 1890's beautiful fireplace, whilst the bedrooms, also with original fireplaces are light and cheerful with John Lewis, and White Company bedding and custom made blinds and curtains. There is free unlimited BT Broadband available. and the cottage is on the Northumberland cycle route, which accesses some wonderful coastal and country walks with its location a mile from Warkworth . Safe off-road parking at the rear. The one shopping street has butchers, bakers, wet fish shop, greengrocer, and there is an award winning fish and chip shop, numerous restaurants and an Italian ice cream parlour within a ten minute walk, as well as the renowned shopping pods by the harbour. You can watch the fisherman land their catch, take in the view of Warkworth Castle and the river Coquet and see the yachts in the marina. We will accept ONE dog with its own bed, at a cost of £10. Because this house is our own holiday home, it is very well equipped, as I like to cook, so there is none of this four cups, four glasses, four plates. It is like a home, there is lots of everything, it is a proper home with choices. There are freeview TV's in both living rooms, and the main bedroom, there is an outside paved terrace with table and chairs, storage for bicycles or golf clubs. The third single bedroom is only suitable for a child, as it is a walk through to the bathroom, so it is 4 adults or 2 adults + 3 children. We do take ONE well behaved dog with its own bed.

Great cottage, great location

By Virginia R. on 10-Nov-2019

Lovely cosy cottage, with great location, minutes from beach, fish and chip shops and ice cream shops. Well equipped with everything we needed and very clean. Our only down was that bathroom is accessed through the single bedroom which is stated on the site but because it was so small I hadn't noticed it, so my teenage daughter who had this room was not impressed. This bedroom did not have a heater either so was quite cold; but the other rooms were very toasty.

Great base

By Sarah J. on 23-Sep-2019

The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed. It’s positioned close to the centre of amble so restaurants, pubs, shops and the harbour were all walking distance. Great base to visit other towns such as Alnwick, Seahouses and bambrough. Would highly recommend !

Roomy, clean and nicely furnished within easy reach of beaches, walks & more

By Ben F. on 25-Aug-2019

V straightforward arrangements, deceptively spacious house, well furnished, very clean and well located. Kitchen could do with a decent pair of kitchen scissors, but otherwise well equipped.
