We have stayed in Thimble cottage before. No change, still a lovely place to stay. Mevagissey is a good place to unwind and browse around. Very well equipped cottage, excellent view over the harbour from the landing and bedroom. Fiona, the owner is very nice and helpful regarding any questions you wish to ask. A lovely stay. Thank you.
We were in Thimble Cottage in the middle of August. Mevagissey is a lovely little fishing town. The cottage is a lovingly restored fisherman's cottage in the alleys of the town. From the upper floor you have a great view over the harbor and the hustle and bustle in the alleys. The cottage is split over three levels with a dining area on the ground floor, a living room with outdoor terrace on the 1st floor and the bedrooms on the 2nd floor. Since we had hot summer weather, we used the terrace daily and were very happy to have this sheltered indoor area. Recommended activities include: - Short hike to the beach on the cliff (200 steps, but worth it). - Fish and mussels from the stall at the harbor - Hike to the Lost Gardens of Heligan - Trips to the surrounding towns We felt very comfortable in the cottage and enjoyed the tasteful ambience very much. Also the short distances to the small town are great, so you can always go home quickly and do not always have to get the car from the parking lot.
What a gorgeous cottage! It’s tucked away enough to be quiet, but only a few minutes walk to everything Mevagissey has to offer. The views from the cottage are lovely and it has a sweet little garden that’s quiet, private and a total sun trap! The cottage is very well equipped, comfortable and pretty. We visited in the summer but I can imagine that it’s very cosy in the winter too as there is a log burner.
